Clothing
So i have a rather peculiar problem, most of my prisoners are complaining about clothing yet very few prisoners seem to be working (which means prisoners won't work in the laundry), and i gave them 6 hours of work. I placed more janitors to compensate this but most of them clean the floor and not the clothes.

no mods.
do needs affect how much your prisoners work? because i do have a problem there

You should meet the needs of the prisoners before they will want to work. They should also not be suppressed.

Check to make sure that the laundry room is set to “shared” in the deployment menu. Also, if you wouldn’t mind, link a screenshot of your laundry room. Keep in mind also that gang members won’t work for the prison.

I only changed the space between walls and it happens with all rooms but i'll check anyway.

Sure, but you will have to wait a bit since i can't take it right now.

I have 500 prisoners, there is no way that 400 of them are gang members.
(PS: it seems that the situation has improved a bit (more prisoners are working) but not nearly enough)

Strange. Laundry is usually one of the more popular prison jobs. That said, sometimes I also still have trouble getting everyone their laundry. I suspect it's because I'm not sure the right balance of laundry baskets to include.

Do you also have a bunch of guys in there looking like all they do is just hang out in the laundry room doing nothing?

Are you sure about that? Look at how fkn many landry machines there are. I placed 10 in a prison for 106 and perhaps 3 or 5 of them are actually used. If there isn't enough uniforms stack then a machine won't work, so I'd suggest dismantling about 90% of those machines, have around 20 at most for the whole prison and see how that works out. Same for ironing boards, you just need a couple, not more than a dozen. You need to keep an eye on the laundry distribution chain to see where things exactly go wrong. Perhaps you have too many laundry baskets as well.

Prisoners only desire fresh clothes after yard/shower time, when being outside in the cold working, of after sh!tting their pants when they can't go to a toilet.

Having large laundry rooms never affected the prisoners' ability to work in my experiences.

Clothing needs are dealt with by janitors even if you have no prisoners working at all in the laundry. He says prisoners have high clothing needs, so the problem is not the non-willing prisoners not working there, but either a shortage of janitors or way too many laundry machines etc. You need to understand the 'logic' in this game.Clothes are stacked together in a laundry basket, When that stack reaches a certain number it's ready to proceed to the laundry machine. But when you have waay too many laundry baskets, the clothes will be spread allover the place, one basking here having 2 clothes, a basket furter down the road has 4. And those never go to the laundry machine since they don't meet the minimum requirement. Hence the system fks up somewhere in his chain, just my 2 cents :steamhappy:

edit: but I could be all wrong, since logic sometimes seems to be far fetched in PA...

i dismantled a lot of the baskets and also left only 20 laundry machines on each laundry room.

i have been working on that but it seems that no matter how much free time they get they still manage to need stuff

Needs of my prisoners, worth noting that they had 3 hours of free time 1,5 hours before the screenshot
