Workers can't install electric cables
I don't know what to do anymore....
Each time I start creating a new prison something bad is happening: cops refuse to take inmates even if there are plenty of cells (yes, with at least 4 squares/cell), cooks refuse to work, all NPC are walking over grass and not on the pavement and so on...

This time, new prison, just finish the layout and workers can't find a way to attach electric cables (and also pipes). I restarted the game, I fired all workers and get new ones, on/off shakedown, lockdown and bangup.

The prison was started only with gangs and unlimited funds.
Bad, bad :worker::worker::worker:

try disabling the steam cloud and go to this directory:

then delete preferences.txt, preferences.txt will then reset after you start the game.

Looks like a pathway blocking issue but i'm not sure if its a danger issue from things happening or something physically blocking them from getting there from that screenshot.

is kinda stupid since all electric wires and pipes are underground.....what sort of blocking can you imagine?

This happens to me too, guards wont open doors for others, workers don't unload trucks, even the truck drivers don't do anything, although it goes away after restart or reload.

Best bet is to verify the integrity of the game files.

you sure your workers can actually get there? Plus your cables don't seem to be connected

I know they are not connected. That's not the issue. TGhey just can't find a clear path to install those that you can see in red. Even the one that's next to the worker and the water pump.

What happens if you hold your mouse over the cable? That should show you the assigned worker. Maybe a worker is stuck somewhere.

just to be clear, does this happen in every prison you make?

If I hold the moouse over tt shows how many times it fails to try.
There are plenty of doors and ways to get it. Not to mention that I have no prisoners and no guards yet so there is no way a door can be locked and waiting for a guard to open it.

Was thinking the same thing, often due to poor initial planning i have about 3 or so workers stuck in a box somewhere that need a wall demo or door added to free them.
Don't look at the place where you want to install the cables. The problem is not here.

Find some blocked off area in your prison, where either a workman or some cabledrums are trapped inside off. Could be a room you forgot to build a door into, could be a courtyard, could be a section with walls on all four sides.

A screenshot of your whole prison would help too.

If you still can't find any cables in your prison, just lying around, they can be deleted from the savefile too.

4 squares cell is not sufficient. Your guards will refuse to Take prisoners there until "small cells" is discovered. The Minimum size of a normally cell is 2*3.
That ist also probably the reason of the cables. Your workers are Just afraid. The Red Cross will probably State "to Dangerous".

Wrong and wrongwrong.
Do I really have to explain to you how to count squares?
And "Too dangerous" only occurs when there is a fight.
