Warden mode needs some improvement.
One day, The Warden is assigned to a prison near the forest. Due to perfect environment, the forest expand fast (Wild Grow enabled). Outside the fence of the prison there is only tree and tree, not any open space.
Along the fence there is a damaged Large Jail Door. The Warden stand there and call the maintenance team to come fix the door. After a while, what he see is a prisoner run quickly toward him, pass the damaged door and run into the deep forest outside. All 5 Guards are busy with other task, so The Warden decided to chase and capture the escaping prisoner himself.
What confuses him is, the prisoner don't even care to escape. He run around in the forest, one-punch every random tree that he see. The Warden think this is a good chance so he get near the prisoner, holding a clipboard and a knife, trying to catch the prisoner. But he can do nothing other than see the prisoner continue one-punching random tree and the red label on the sky "You can't hurt prisoner if not for self-defense". Realize his limitness, The Warden goes back to his prison, forcefully allow himself to let one prisoner ecscape right in front of him.
Five minutes later (in real-life time), The Warden don't see any Ecscape Report. Feeling there is something wrong, he goes back to the forest to see it now become a huge open-land, and far away the prisoner still doing his good job one-punching random trees that are left.

TL;DR:
In Wrden mode, the warden is not allow to perform any hostile action other than for self-defense (or so I think). However, he can't even swing a knife in the corner of his room if there is no one attacking him. Even there is a riot right in front of his eye, if the prisoner don't attack him he can do nothing to calm down the prisoner while waiting for the Guard to arrive.

To dev: Can you allow free action in Warden mode? You may apply punishment if those action affect the prison's reputation, but at least allow the poor Warden to do as he like.

I agree. The Devs have set a limitation there. I think in warden mode it would be more interesting if you also could do other jobs.

I also agree. Unfortunately, there is no way to mod this aspect, as it is built into the game's base design. If you feel like murdering hoards of prisoners without consequence, I suggest you try out my scenario mod:
