daily cell search
so i usualy do this one hour before the inmates go to bed i have a routine daily cell searching, most of the time i just find things like drugs or some weapons but never anything serious but is it a good idea for daily cell searches ?,does it effect the mood of the prisoners ?

They get a little cranky if they get searched a lot.

But not enough to ever make me wanna stop. I do it daily as well unless i forget.

Yeah, they get a little annoyed if you do it too often. HOwever, it's more efficient to get a good CI and haul them in at midnight or so, they will reveal which cells have contraband in them, then you can bang those cells individually. The higher their % the more contraband you'll be able to see.

The other problem with searching the cells before the prisoners occupy them for the night is they don't get any punishment, only if you find contraband when the prisoner is in the cell.

Just search the whole cell blocks when shower time AND eating time.

It's fine if you do it just before they go to bed or while they are sleeping. Their mood will go down from it, but it's usually back up when they wake up in the morning, so no harm done.

Typically, I flip pods (cell block) if any contraband is found on an inmate (not including luxuries). If any instance of violence occurs with a weapon, pods are flipped. Pods are flipped while they are asleep.

In recap, if a prisoner located in cell block A is caught with contraband (no matter where the infraction occurred in the prison) the entire block is flipped. All inmates are punished. Blocks B and C will be left alone unless an inmate there is caught with contraband. In my observation, this has reduced infractions despite cranky prisoners.
