Reforming Gang Members?
(Sorry if this seems like a dumb question, I haven't played in a very long time and have just recently started again, so many features are new to me)

Is it possible to get gang members to leave their gangs, or reform them in any way shape or form? Because as far as I can tell, it seems like if you get a gang member, they'll just be there, forever, because they won't be getting out on parole (and I'd rather not have people leaving my prision in body bags).

I ask because I started a prison with gangs enabled, not fully understanding what it was- just that it sounded interesting. Now I've got four members from two different gangs just... sitting around. At least if they had a brawl it might have been interesting, but no, they seem perfectly fine with eachother. Very civil. Never had any of them caught with contraband or had to send them to solitary. Yet they don't want to work or take classes, anything that would get me invested in them. It's an incredibly boring waste cell space.

Is there anything I can do? Honestly, I've been considering selling this prison (even though I'm quite attached to it) just so I can start over without having to worry about getting these guys.

It will get interesting when a gang leader shows up at your prison.

Well, gangs are a problem when a gang leader shows up cause they can turn non gang into gangmembers.

That's the way I deal with gangs:
1- Put them in a different part of the prison with their own canteen and stuff...
2- You don't need to bother with stuff like laundry, shop, workshop, library.... .. . cause they dont work, also, they are not interest in any program, neither Alcoholics Anonymous nor drug treatment at enfermary. But having enfermary near their block is important cause they stil use drugs and can get overdosed.
3- Build a few Parole rooms, it's hard for them to pass, but it can happen.
4- I think gangs will occupy 15 to 20% of your cells, that also depends on how much you parole your other inmates cause gangmembers stays longer than others.

I like locking trouble makers in solitary permanently

Gang members are a drag on your prison, as they don't attend any reform programs and are less likely to get early release. Just throw them all into a SuperMax wing with lots of dogs and tasers, so they can't recruit among your general population.

Sometimes I just enjoy screwing with them, permanent solitary is nice too or watching them fight while freefire guards watch.

In the Prison I am designing (With Segregated Security Sectors that actaully live up to their names): All Gang Members go to Max Sec, and the High Ranking ones go to Supermax so Gangs will have minimal Impact unless leader gets killed (And all members riot).
