Staff only remote door?

The door opens automatically at certain times. I want the guard to only open the door remotely for staff, not prisoners. I can't just use deployment in the room on the other side because I want prisoners in there (the workshop) but only during work hours. Is there a way to do this without mods?

Well you can build a staff only corridor. Well there is a neat Exploit if your indoor: you can remove the foundation of the location from the door with bulldoze toll. Then build a door and set the one tole Deployment zone to staff only.

But would the prisoners be able to travel through the staff only zone to the workshop?

If I understood what you want, you can build a remote door for the workshop, put a door servo and connect it to a door timer, set the door timer to only open at work hours. Keep in mind that no staff would be able to enter the room outside work hours either, but you can set the door timer to open the doors during sleep time also, so your workers can get the logs and plates inside and whatever.

If you're looking for a vanilla way, you could build a staff only cooridor and have a pressure plate on the staff only side with a door servo on the remote door. That way, when the guard steps on it the door opens up. You could also accomplish the same with a door controller in security.

Modded way, there is a mod that has a staff detector that takes a wired signal to a servo.
