Staff Needs -.-
So. I have a prison, it has staff, but MOST have "serious complains about their job". After adding a lot more staff rooms, and still having the same issue, I then noticed something. The staff seem to be going to the staffroom FURTHEST away from them. So once they get there, they are not on break anymore. The staff currently have 6 breaks, and each are 90 mins long, I suppose I could increase this to 120 mins, but then I would just have staff constantly on break.

Can anyone think of a way around this please?

Are you talking about all staff, or specifics?

All staff are doing this, one would be on the opposite side of the prison (right next to a staff room) but they would go to rest completly the other side of the prison
Then I'd suggest a screenshot.

Their AI is re tar ded. End of story. I give them 2/3 breaks 4 hours each. Then they manage to somehow satisfy their needs. And if they're in a bind, I can always throw the break number to 6 to issue an immediate break to all of them. But with big prisons, breaks shorter than 3 hours aren't going to work, so you can try that

Your problem is unrelated, please visit an appropriate thread to proceed with the complaints.

Pardon me, but how is their problem "unrelated"? What he has stated actually helps me. The A.I is the stupidest thing. It is a problem that should never exist.

He "solves" his problems by changing the break time when the needs grow dire. This is a dumb workaround, not actually fixing the issue. There is also no indication that his problem grows from staff not using the provided facilities correctly.
Unless you feel satisfied with having to manually send all the guards on break for a long time.

What other option is there? The staff needs update was brought out half-arsed. Most of it didn't work. I had to install an extension so staff meals were distributed throughout all the staff rooms, rather than the closest staff room to the delivery.

The only option is to wait until they fix it or not play it at all, I guess. I tried everything already, it just doesn't work as intended, food is too expensive (12k for 200 guards...) and they never deliver it to every needed source, guards simply won't eat although their food need is maxed out, chefs wont clean food trays which leads to a huge stagnation in food distribution among guards. On top of that kitchens wont recognize staff canteen as an actual canteen for some obscure reasons. All that just produces "pissed off" guards who kills prisoners which leads to every sort of disasters.

I honestly don't understand why they released such a bugged feature in an official update, this is "alpha" material at best.

Believe me, if their AI was working correctly, my staff would be fine and dandy, every security block in my prison has a staffroom with meal tables and staff toilets. They continue to go from my normal security area to my Death Row staffroom for a snack and then all the way to the max sec to take a wee.

To clarify:EVERY AREA HAS SEPARATE STAFFROOM AND TOILETS, THEY JUST CHOOSE IT AT RANDOM INSTEAD OF PROXIMITY.

Big prisons NEED super long break time, but actually, they can most of the time deal with just 2 breaks a day, that being 8 hours of break a day. 6 breaks with 1:30 make you waste 9 hours of their time on trying to get where they want and not getting anything done.
Setting the Instabreak is a good way of ensuring that these pis sed off manage to slowly, slowly roll themselves to the meal table on the other side of the prison as they wish. I only do it if I had an emergency that made me lower their break times for a while to deal with it.
Furthermore, this game is unplayable without mods. Get Tweaked Staff Food or what was it called so the food gets delivered all around as it should be.
Staff Needs are sadly broken. I wish I could just give them one 6 hour break and be done with it until their AI is fixed, because as it is, I can't expand my prison without risking their re tar ded AI picking the toilet on the other side of the STREET and not making it on time.

I don't change the break time. I change the break amount. Luckily the settings allow to set the breaks to 6 breaks times 4 hours for emergencies. But my prisons work with me switching between 2 and 3 breaks most of the time.

When I say their AI is re tar ded, I mean it in a way that they choose the furthest away facility to try to deal with their needs. I hadn't yet seen if perhaps locking all the doors to a prison block would change it, but that's that's problem with their AI, not my prison.
