If you want to keep the part for future runs, you have to bring that part (as partbof your Mech) to the wrench icon on the map and pay to “analyze” it.
The game doesn't do a good job of explaining this, but you can't directly equip most mech parts as a Labor. Instead you need to interact with a set of legs, first, so you get on them. Next you'll need to interact with a mech head to equip it. From there, assuming your head has arm slots, you'll be able to interact with any other mech parts to equip them, including swapping out your legs and head.
You need a body to get body/head, and you need a head to get arms.
The forklift has no arm sockets though meaning it cannot equip weapons. You'll have to find a different head part that does have arm sockets first.
u can bring in parts to be registered to u at the yellow shops ingame runs. bring the mech in and u can do it while its on u, OR u can walk in with the part above ur head. u cant repair this way but u can register the part to u still. press the interact button agian and u will throw the part on the ground.
later u will find a skill, think its destruct? and u can walk over and just use the interact button to break a mech down instantly on the spot
How do you disassemble the mech parts?
Just to be clear, you only need to disassemble a mech if you kill the enemy pilot without destroying their mech's torso and legs. Otherwise, if you destroy either of those components, the mech will disassemble itself.
With that said, you have two options for disassembly:
First, there's the manual method.
Alternatively:
Obviously, the second method is a lot more convenient, so I recommend analyzing or buying the Demolisher app as soon as you can and just keeping it equipped after that point.
So many times have I struggled to equip those replacement arms when i needed them because I kept moving while trying to attach them. The "you are close enough to interact" part is not a fan of us hyperactive robots
