Requesting Build Recommendations/Discussions (Apps, Weaps, Arms, etc.)
Alright, so I was curious: I've hit the NG+ Wall and am struggling to Progress with my current setup. I know some people are also struggling to progress so I thought I would make a Suggestion topic for people to kind of list and talk about what works for them, what they notice goes well together, give a good direction for some of the players struggling, but also to kind of talk about fun things that you may have found works for you. Kind of an open discussion, if you will. I am curious know what kind of goofy/bad@$$ combos you creative people have come up with!

ATM, I am personally trying to build for beam Guns, And Solid/Beam blades. I would like to make builds for every weapon type, if we happen to come across the ability to make presets in the future. I love having variation.

Also, Is there a Discord for the community?

There was a discord on the game's store page, but I think it was just generally the publisher's discord. There probably are channels for this game though.

When I make builds I pick a combo (ie solid slash or beam shot) and then go from there. I open the melee/ranged apps and max out everything that seems useful. Then I go to the red Apps and grab some of the "cursed" stuff that works with my chosen weapon type.

Then I'll fill out the defensive and utility stuff with whatever points I have left, generally trimming down my offensive choices to make other essentials fit.

I always take "Strike Gold" (more D Chips, large D Chip pickup Radius), "General Wisdom" (more app drops) Sharing is caring (if full HP, rice balls heal ARMS), and 2 ranks in both Labor Repair/Arms repair for all my builds. Besides that I build around Crit and combo apps: weakness exploit, change of heart, Revved up, Deep Wounds, etc,

The build I used to clear NG+ the first time was "Solid Slash". Heavy Sword in one hand, Ninjato/Chainsaw in the other. I took ranks in Samedare Slash, Violet Blade (add elec to solid melee), discharge and lighting strike.

All of the "weapon specific stuff" apps like Samedare Slash, Sentient Bullets. Retarget, or Unload All Shots all seem to be pretty good. The one that makes you shoot multiple arrows together with "retarget" will turn crossbows into a hilariously effective add clear weapon for example.

Smithereens and Induced Explosion with missile or bazooka weapons are similarly crazy.

That's what I do though: pick a niche, go all in and hope I hold on to my weapons or find replacements quickly.

I was viewing someone's stream and saw that he built his own mech on postgame by stacking on lesser cooling to enter an overheat state at all times with a dual lance build, and using defensive perks for overheat to cover himself from damage (i forgot the name of the disk). He was facetanking the last boss on NG+ with it.

As for me, I'm just currently on a swapping one-handed beam gun build stacked with Tunneling Effect and Smithereens with some attack apps (enhanced beam/solid shots, short range, sharpshooter, lightmaster, boneshooter, heavy bullet, etc.) just to improve damage and get to 9999 cap per bullet with some faster projectile and reload mods. I did not get berserk though; I don't want to be fully-glass cannon.

I gave it some energy mods as well to make it always regenerate energy even while flying and regenerating damaged arms/labor health just so I could always go crazy on maneuvers. Sometimes, I would run a hoverpod build with this too as I already gave it max burn resist and some auto-hover mods. I would also just sometimes put a shield for extra insurance.

I'll write down some outliers.

Single Drills, Single Chainsaws: they are excellent against bosses, since they have special property that slows down its animation whenever it hits an enemy. This leads to increased amounts of hits. Single wield works just fine, dual wield has a little awkward moveset that also steps its toes on AoE role.

Single Swords: they are good for clearing out hordes with its dash attack. Its dash attack gains boost on activation, has a short attack delay, and a flat horizontal arc for area coverage. Most importantly, they don't need a dual wield to work properly.

※ Other melee weapons' dash attacks are decent but either have a slanted arc (Axes), a bit short on range (Ninjatos), or have a noticeable delay (Heavy Blades). That doesn't mean they are bad though; just a little inconvenient for horde clears.

Dual Gravity Cannons: they provide the strongest crowd control and defense; black holes will render Labors and Arms immobile while black hole sucks them inside, block ranged projectiles, and rapid hits will quickly disintegrate targets.

※ Note that you need Gravity Resistance x4 to prevent yourself from getting sucked into your own black hole. In addition, you lose Gravity Resistance while in a Shield Break state.
※ Black holes have slow bullet speed which makes them a natural defensive weapon. Consider improving bullet speed for horde clear, or leave them as is to damage stationary bosses better.

This works with the fists as well. Except they don't stop when they hit a wall so it can get even crazier.

The head gear w/ the beam shots + AutoPods app and dual melee (Ninjato or the big triangle blades). Just finished NG+ for the first time and barely took any damage

Do you know the name of the app that multiplies arrows/projectiles?
