Possible Fix for Balck Screen

Hopefully this might help some of you. I to suffered from the black screen after the intro finished, so I read some posts saying they got the game to run by putting the game in win 98 me compatibility mode which was part of the issue. The other part is it seems the game can't run in a 1920x1080 res so I dropped the res down to 1600x900 and bam the game finnaly worked. In short go to steam/steamapps/common/Sudeki and put both the game exe and the launcher exe into Windows 98/Windows me compatability mode and when you launch the game drop the resolution down to 1600x900. Hope this helps some of you and good luck.

Btw forgot to mention 2 things. First I am using Win 7 home premium 64 bit. Secondl not sure if its the game or the fact that using win 98 compatability causes this but loading times are a bit long anywhere from 10-15 secs to 30-60+ secs. So if you think the game might not be loading give a couple mins. Again I hope this helps.

The original disk version suffered from this black screen / apphang as well and was worked around by setting the game properties to use windows 98 compatibility.

This issue was introduced early 2010 after windows kernel hotfixes, prior to that the game would run fine without any compatiblity mode settings.

This steam version will not start with the win98 compatibility setting, (atleast not for me anyway). However, you can download a beta update now which no longer has this app hang issue.

edit - the steam version needs the launcher set to win98 compatibility as well.
