My background on the game, I am F2P I have been playing littler over 1.5 year. I am currently able to compete in the arena at high end Gold 5 and low end Platinum ranks, I Would say I'm mid-late game in terms of the PVE content.
Regarding points made on this post
1: Yes you are right Ancient shards (blue shards) have a 0.5% chance to give you a legendary champion which is a 1% change on a x2 event. however if you also get free Sacred shards which have a 6% change to get legendary which is a 12% chance on a x2 event and if you are a patient player and don't yeet all your resources as soon as you get them you can save for guaranteed events where you might have to pull 60-100 ancient shards to get a legendary champion. There is also a mercy system built into shards where if you have not pulled a legendary champion in 200 ancient shards your odds are increased by 5% for every shard used until you get a legendary champion. You might be thinking 200 shards sounds like a lot however you get free shards through Weekly quest, Daily login rewards, Dungeon rewards, Campaign rewards, weekly arena rewards, Faction wars, missions, clan shop and daily clan login, 1 weekly free ancient shards in shop, 5 ancient shards in market place which only cost 200k silver to buy. You can also buy ancient shards with Gems which are obtainable free in the game.
Every play gets a new 7 day login reward legendary champion every 3 months, these tend to be OP champions that help you in many areas of the game.
You can grind for a Fusion champion every 6-8 weeks and this can be F2P.
As you progress though the game you also have clan boss demon lord rewards you get 4 keys a day and can either put them all in 1 to get max chest, however if you can 1 key the required damage then you can get 4 separate rewards these rewards are DOUBLED if you clan kills the boss. You also have the doom tower where there are 120 floors with 12 bosses all and 2 levels normal and hard you get 10 keys a day giving you ability to do 10 floors per day on a 1 month rotation giving you 300 keys to do 240 floors you go rewards for every floor with a premium reward for the boss. You also have clan boss hydra rewards which you can gain fragments to summon Mithrala who is a Void legendary champion.
2: First of all when it comes to boss tournaments like dragon, fire knight, spider ect if you are able to do stage 16 dragon and above its 1-1 energy to points if the reward requires 2k points you need to run as many runs as it takes to use 2k energy.
You get free daily energy refills from the shop that go to your inbox these last for 99 days so you should only redeem them as and when you need them to maximise your energy regain.
Tournaments, Events and Fusions can be done even after a couple of months of playing you just need to make efficient use of your resources.
3: Not much to to say here Plarium points are just for whales and krakens.
4: You can run many dungeons with epic and rare champions, It really comes down to knowing the champions skills and pairing them with champions that work well together. In fact the best dungeon champion is an epic champion called "Seer" better than any legendary to clear dungeon waves I've had 4/5 copy's of this champion since playing.
5: Finishing faction wars is considered by a lot of people end game, so this will be difficult however you do get good free rewards as you go though this with one of the best legendary champions in the game as the final reward.
6: Arena can be difficult at the beginning however lots of people put in 1 man defence's to keep from going up to close to platinum and you can refresh the arena list every 15mins to look for easier opponents. If you can not compete with a speed team use a different strategy for arena you can build a go second team with a tanky reviver who can pick up your team after the speed team has gone first.
7: I've done free to play challenges where I have started and 1 key easy and normal in the first week just like any game you need to work out how to do this. There are you tube guides and clan boss guides online. early clan boss damage can be obtainable easily with poison, if you pick Kael as your starter champion he brings poison in his skills you can also pick up a rare champion called frozen banshee who brings poison sensitivity which Increases poison damage by 25%, find a champion who brings decrease attack and a champion who brings increase Defence on your team which will help you survive while the boss takes poison damage.
8: Doom tower unlocks at level 40 by this point you should have 6 stared a couple of champions. Normal can be tackled with your starter champion for damage and use sets like Regeneration on your support champions to keep them alive and stun sets on champions with AOE Ability's to help control the waves. This can be done you just have to think about what champions your putting in. You can't just chuck in a bunch of attack champions and hope for the best.
9: The Cursed City of Sintranos has 2 difficulty levels normal and hard it does not open until you hit level 55. By this point if you are playing correctly you should have 6/7 6 star champions and a roster of 5 star champions you have been building for faction wars. If this is the case you should be able to progress though some of normal planning your route through Sintranos is key, unlike doom tower you don't have to complete every stage and there is multiple routes you can take.
10. The gear levelling mechanic is one of the most annoying in the game however I can say I've never had to pay over 5 million silver to max one artefact or accessory I think at most 3-3.5million for a 6 star legendary item.
The cost increases with the rank and rarity of an item and there is RNG to the success rate of each level. You get additional rolls or extra stats every 4 levels of the item. The best advice I can give is to be frugal with items only upgrade gear to 16 you are going to keep long term and roll it to 8 first make sure you get the sub-stat rolls your looking for if you are happy with first 8 rolls then roll to 12 and then to 16 if its got the right stats.
11: You can acquire legendary quiet a few legendary books free through the campaign, missions and advanced daily quest. Legendries can have low or high book value I would use website like hellhades.com to see if the champion benefits from being booked. In most cases people save their legendary books for CvC (Clan vs Clan) these give you a lot of points if you upgrade their skills during these events and and the more points you earn as a clan the more rewards you unlock.
12: It is only worth gemming masteries on a 6 star champion and It is wise to save your gems for your first set of masteries. Once you have 3/4 champions with masteries it does become more efficient to grind minotaur as you get experience for your newly 6 stared champion, Silver and it would cost less energy than what you can buy with 800 gems. however it does take time roughly 140-150 runs 4-5hrs of auto runs. if you play on PC you can download programs like RSL Helper that can auto run until completed and turn off your pc which means you can run it over night and not have to worry about the pc being on all night.
Plarium is a business at the end of the day and they can not run a free game like this if you want to rush to the end game as quick as possible and you have deep pockets then you have that option on this game.
However if you are a patient player who doesn't mind the grind there are plenty of freebies on this game with log in rewards, in game content, promo codes and amazon gaming collaborations so if you have or a friend or family has a prime account you can get free rewards from this too.
If you are interested in playing Raid there is an group of content creators that are running a F2P Challenge on You tube right now this is run by Hell Hades, watching some of these creators videos would prepare you very well for starting your own journey though the world of Telearia
Oof, no, this is definitely not true. You might be close, and maybe this was true ~a year ago when this was written, but even starting out with a free 5*, you will not have two characters at 6* by level 40. I'm not saying the OP was perfect in their description but neither is this post defending the game.
This game is SUPER grindy - period. And it's full of traps designed specifically to make you waste resources, and hateful, evil sinks (like the tiny % chance to upgrade artifacts - ouch) that don't "feel good" because it's a massive waste with no stacking chance to win. It's probably just slightly worse than the "average" similar style FtP game, of which there are like a billion now, and Raid is clearly old and showing some age.
All that said: like the billion others like it, it's still a fun game with lots of strategy and lots of tiny dopamine triggers sprinkled all over the place, and not too bad for a game without an existing IP. Just for the love of god don't spend money: it is NOT worth it, and all money does is speed up progress in a game that you can spend infinite time playing to achieve the same result.
I'm definitely not going anywhere near it, but was curious to check the forums after seeing that it's now on Steam. Anyways, enjoy anyone who's playing and remember, this game is designed to eat at your wallet, and then shutdown when it's no longer profitable.
