Help reaching door

I just finished the game but never got to access this door.
This is on the far right of the sewer accessed via the manhole in front of Friendly Paws.
Any help will be appreciated.

You need to jump off of the dock to the right. It's in the same area as the control panel to drain the water. You jump over the railing to the right, then swim to the left. You'll need the memento that lets you swim for longer

IIRC the panel that drained the water was the one with the gears?

If I go all the way to the right of that I can jump into the water but then I don't seem to be able to swim left at all.
Then jumping to the right of Friendly Paws, I swim left and end up in the room where I rescue the cat.
And jumping off the Ferry Docks to the right, I bump into the rear of the boat.

I found this very confusing, too. It's quite obscure. Here is a video. It's not by the docks, but right in front of the clinic, you run to the right and jump off, then swim left

Was the last third of your video intended to be pitch black?

That said, yeah, I had tried that route.
It's the one I mentioned in my previous message, to the right of the vet, but that takes you to the room where you release the cat.
Not to the door I'm going for.

No, the video wasn't meant to cut off there. Either way it is the same door. That door on the other side of the bars in your first screen shot, is the one you enter to get to the cat in the cage

EDIT: tried making another video showing that, but any time you change rooms the video doesn't come back for some reason. At least for me on SteamOS with Steam's built in game recorder. Either way you can see I am on the other side of the bars and at the door in your first screenshot here. When it goes black, I am in the room with the cat cage

I get the confusion because the layout doesnt make sense there on the map. But it's absolutely the same door

Came to say that. You're right, but the map makes absolutely no sense.

In this screensoht, I'm standing on the right side of that fence, and the location of the photo like 50 meters to the right is supposedly the same location, standing to the left of the fence.

They probably made it so that the stairs on the left side align with the ones going down the left of the clinic, but they screwed up the tunnel's continuity real bad.

How many other sections do I have to squat down to bust something with a sledgehammer to open up another area? I went under the ranger station by accident and there is another section further southwest that is darkened. Tells me it is open from the other side. I assume I haven't opened all the manholes yet because I still have the tool. Very few spots left to go and I can't figure these out. Same problem with the area under the gondola. Running and jumping to reach the bag close to that seems impossible. Same with the spot for the attic key.
