LUFTRAUSERS
Cannot load game due to Cloud Sync Save issue
I have the game installed and working fine on one PC but I just went to install it on another and it won't launch. On launch I get a dialogue box stating "Steam was unable to sync your files for LUFTRAUSERS with the Steam Cloud". If I click Play Game then the game launches but fails to load the save game and then states I don't have enough disk space and that I need at least 256Kb... I have >25GB remaining.

If I turn off Cloud Sync and delete the contents of userdata for the App ID it skips the dialogue but still fails to load the save and gives the same space error.

Anybody got any suggestions?

I'm getting a similar problem, but I don't know what the cause was. It says I don't have enough space, even though I have 2GB on one drive and over 650GB on the drive with the game on it

This is a problem that appears when you have this 3:

1) Have a save file in cloud sync
2) Don't have a savefile in your steam/userdata folder
3) Turn off cloud sync or can't connect to cloud sync.

The game will be unable to make a new save file for some reason. The solution is to launch the game exe directly (from outside steam) to create a new savefile. Then copy the savefile into the steam/userdata folder.

EDIT:
Was steam down? If it was, that might be the reason you couldnt sync.
Anyways... when i said copy savefile...

Q2: Where is my save file stored?
A: There are 2 different places a save file can be stored. One is in %APPDATA%/.LUFTRAUSERS/ which is used when Steam is not running, the other is in your_steam_installation_folder/userdata (In windows, usually located at C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/userdata/). Then search for the file "save.0.0.96e".
These files are interchangable, but be careful: Overwriting either will get that save file lost!

thanks. ill see if this works later
Thanks for the advice, moved the save file as specified and that fixed the issue. Steam wasn't down at the time of me testing, I was able to sync other games with the cloud without issue.
i have the same problem, but on my yosemite. How to fix this? Can't find any save file? Cleared local data, reinstalled the game , but nothing?
This happened to me for no reason after re-installing the game.

I simplified the guide:
  1. Turn off Steam (Right-click the icon in the taskbar and select Exit)
  2. Go to the game folder (Should be C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Luftrausers\bin\)
  3. Run the game (A save file should now be created)
  4. Exit the game and go to the local save location (Should be %appdata%\.LUFTRAUSERS\)
  5. Copy the files in the folder
  6. Go to the steam save file location and paste the files into the remote folder (Should be C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\<steamid>\233150\remote\ , but could be elsewhere depending on what drive your game is installed (i.e. could be C: D: E: etc.)). If there is no remote folder under the 233150 folder, then create one.
  7. Run the game from Steam.
