Ahai from what i understood was a reincarnation of Huan Ting Ting - which is why they mentioned how much she looked just like her, etc.
also there's a bonus scene which explains about doc- sue-A-hai etc after the original credits. if u got the extrication ending
and if u got the abyss ending , there's another scene that shows some other stuff.
I basically got the ending where Huang took the lantern and went into the gateway and then after the first credits A Hai was leaving a letter in the security office then they went upstairs for a screening of the movie or whatever, which I'm guessing meant that the game itself was supposed to be the movie experienced as a game or whatever. That being said it still just really didn't explain why A-hai was able to figure out her connection so quickly when she seemed to go into the situation completely ignorant of her connection to it as well as there wasn't any real hint that A-hai and Huang knew each other as I said. It just seemed like they just jumped from what happened to Richie to the final battle, which left out a lot of stuff in between those parts.
Again it just seemed like there really wasn't as much effort put into creating more intricate stories between the different characters like the first one where it seemed more so that each character had their one or two challenges and maybe one or two puzzles on top of that. Plus most of the encounters were really easy and could be done on the first try except maybe one or two like the ballerina show. Like it literally took me less than a few hours to beat the whole game when the original took me at least 2x-3x spread over a good few days. I wasn't even trying to run through it either as I try to look for as many collectibles and interactive stuff as possible. Again maybe it's just me, but I just felt a bit disappointing in how it seemed that once the climax finally started building it almost immediately jumped to the end before it could have any sore of impact.
Edit: Looked up the Abyss ending on youtube as I'm not really trying to bother figuring out how to initiate it myself... Honestly I don't think it really cleared anything up further or really added to it. It just made things more confusing and unexplained.
as for the abyss ending it sorta teases to A-hai coming back- like she didn't sacrifice herself when she went through the gate. she found a way to return ( only we don't see that unless its teasing the bridge 3 sorta thing)
