Loading Screen Freeze on Chapter 1

I've ran into a rather game breaking bug and was wondering if someone might have a solution for it. I've beaten the game on Normal, Hard, and Insane and after the update today I can't seem to get past chapter 1 due to a loading screen freeze.

I was playing on heroic mode and was going through Chapter 1 normally. Then as soon as I tried going through the door right after you grab the power crystal and destroy the blue statue, the game froze upon Lo Wang trying to unlock the door. This happened 3 times.

There is no dump file created and the game doesn't stop responding in task manager or anything. It is just stuck and I'm unable to do anything.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I was having the same problem.

A previous discussion said to turn off checkpoints (you don't get them anyway because it's heroic mode) and that worked for me.

How do you disable checkpoint?

Options -> Game & HUD -> uncheck "Enable Checkpoints"

Thank you Cident for your help. Was able to play through the game with no problems on heroic =).

years later and the same problem continues. I've done everything nothing works, I saw tb that this occurs in 2 and 3 tb.

you'll see it's something that spreads in the franchise... what an unbelievable hell
