Shadow Warrior

The voice actor.
I watched the trailer and I want to throw tomatoes at my monitor because of Lo Wang. Is it that hard to find voice actors? Anybody can do voice acting work and I sure as heck would do it on the cheap and I'm sure many of you can do something very close to Lo Wang's voice.

Actually voice acting takes a bit of talent.
You have to capture emotion, not everyone is capable of such.

I agree though, for the like... idk 3rd thread now I've poisted on this topic, that classic Lo Wang is far superior in both voice overs and humor.

New Lo Wang isn't the best, but it's far from terrible.
Its clearly for me that Lo Wang is not exactly the same character as the old game.

On the newer reboot game he looks and sounds like a younger version.
i must say, i actually like this version of Lo wang.... well tastes differ.
Yes well he is supposed to be younger which is fine but he seems to almost completely lack his cartoon accent. Blah blah racism. There is a lady from New Jersey that lives across the street from me. She sounds exactly like the city wok guy from South Park. It's a New Jersey accent that thick but yes there are people that sound like that.
Indeed, young Wang speaks better english than the old one which is weird.
Pretty much taking out all of the low-brow humor as to not offend anyone was a bad decision but at last somewhat logical(if still very detrimental for the overall experience).
Killing of the cartoony accent though was utterly unneeded(does anyone really feel offended by that?and if he does...did you ever watch 80´s asian action localisations?).
Wangs voice seemed fine to me. No complaints.

I was expecting more comedy from the script.. low brow.. but ended up being more dry and satirical.. which isn't a bad thing. Would have appreciated more of it though.

Just finished my playthrough.. pretty epic.

But back on topic.. I'm more at odds with a chinese protagonist in a primarily japanese-themed game. But even so. It was awesome ;p
Really like the game, but I don't think the Lo Wang redesign (and especially the voice) turned out very well. Or were even warranted.
It's not just that he speaks good english, but he speaks it as a US born, which he's not supposed to be.
Well, at first I also didn't quite like new Lo Wang, especially his "Wanna be badass" (when speking with sword owner at the temple). But then... Well, he blends in. I think you get such impressions because of you think of the game as a redisign of the old one, but in fact it is a brand new game, which just uses some tricks from the old one.

Just deal with the new Lo Wang for a couple of episodes, and you'll love him, trust me.

Because he IS the younger version. Though I do find it odd that his english is better in the reboot and then worse in the original. Though, to be honest, do you really think all those japanese people run around talking english? They are more likely speaking japanese though we hear it as english.

I'd say the movie Kung Pow comes to mind. Oh that was hilarious.
Maybe after years of killing demons, Lo-Wang went demented and forgot how to speak English like he used to.
he is a NEW Lo Wang and not a YOUNGER Lo Wang
this is a remake,not a prequel

Still, whenever "New Lo Wang" speaks a line, all I can think of is how much better it would sound and how much cooler it would be with the old voice. Same thing whenever I see a mirror or whatever.

well the old voice actor is around 80 now I think so...
75 IIRC,though your point is still valid. :P
But they could have tried to get a guy that sounded like him.
