You have to capture emotion, not everyone is capable of such.
I agree though, for the like... idk 3rd thread now I've poisted on this topic, that classic Lo Wang is far superior in both voice overs and humor.
New Lo Wang isn't the best, but it's far from terrible.
On the newer reboot game he looks and sounds like a younger version.
Pretty much taking out all of the low-brow humor as to not offend anyone was a bad decision but at last somewhat logical(if still very detrimental for the overall experience).
Killing of the cartoony accent though was utterly unneeded(does anyone really feel offended by that?and if he does...did you ever watch 80´s asian action localisations?).
I was expecting more comedy from the script.. low brow.. but ended up being more dry and satirical.. which isn't a bad thing. Would have appreciated more of it though.
Just finished my playthrough.. pretty epic.
But back on topic.. I'm more at odds with a chinese protagonist in a primarily japanese-themed game. But even so. It was awesome ;p
It's not just that he speaks good english, but he speaks it as a US born, which he's not supposed to be.
Just deal with the new Lo Wang for a couple of episodes, and you'll love him, trust me.
Because he IS the younger version. Though I do find it odd that his english is better in the reboot and then worse in the original. Though, to be honest, do you really think all those japanese people run around talking english? They are more likely speaking japanese though we hear it as english.
I'd say the movie Kung Pow comes to mind. Oh that was hilarious.
this is a remake,not a prequel
well the old voice actor is around 80 now I think so...
But they could have tried to get a guy that sounded like him.
