Black screen

I'm getting a black screen in Shadow Warrior. When I first tried to play I had this problem.. so I started messing with a few graphics options. I pretty much tried every one with no success. So then I updated my video card drivers. Didn't work. I validated my files, didn't work. I deleted and reinstalled the game... didn't work. Then I tried to disable full screen and play in windowed mode.

That worked. Now I get to the part where that dude fuses with you and it's stuck as a black screen. I can see the hud nothing else. Enabling and disabling full screen doesn't work anymore.

Specs:

Intel Core i7 3930k
Rampage IV Extreme mobo
32gb 1866mhz crucial ballistix elite ram
Radeon HD 6970s running in crossfire
Windows 8


Any ideas? Anything is appreciated. I'm and I.T. guy but I can't figure this out. And please don't start with gpu flame wars. Nvidia guys are having the same problem as well, read the discussion threads.

Edit: turning off vsync fixes the issue but makes the screen very dim.

You can use the tool "RadeonPRO" and torn on there VSYNC. This should work, as well! I have the same issue and will give it a try and report then. :)

I was getting the same problem. The cutscenes, sound and music were working, but the screen was black.
Going to Catalyst Control and setting Anti-alaising, anti-isotropic filtering settings and such to be >chosen by the application< save and restart the game. It fixed for me just fine.

Turning off V-Sync in Catylist Control Center worked for me.

Recently got the game, started it in safe mode there is no problem, i believe the issue is the game starting in fullscreen but the resolution not being correct, if you alt tab then you will be able to see a flash of the game in the screen as you tab out.
