Other than the bosses just becoming more of a grind rather than more difficult, and bezerkers making things a nuisanse, it makes for a richer more eventful playthrough. There can/will be waves of enemies that might take a few attempts. Otherwise it's a smooth experience if you get the hang of what you should be doing. It's not absurd.
Also, you can save anytime (during a fight). This really eases things up and it's why there's a Heroic mode unlocked when you finish. That mode challenges you to finish a whole chapter without saves/checkpoints.
While playing it, it felt like the game would be more charming or characteristic by possing a challenge.
there's a tutorial but they just fail to mention things. I didn't learn you could ADS in this game until a loading screen casually mentioned it on like lvl 15! Same thing with melee attacks while wielding a gun. It'd be like playing a tutorial for Super Mario Brothers and they just neglected to mention that you can hold B to run.
