What does Laser Guidance Do?

you ARE aware that the rockets travel slow so that you can guide them right? If they moved too fast the guidance system would be useless. They are essentially Radio Controlled Rockets following your retical/the laser

Perhaps, but in a game where it's generally a bad idea to stand still and aim super-carefully, I find that guiding rockets via reticle makes them less accurate, not more.

if anything, the rockets should travel fast when using regular aiming, while travelling slower when using the targgeting laser

It's been a while but last I tried using them I felt like the enemies were too smart for it and could easily dodge them, except for maybe the Warlords. I couldn't even hit the sweet spots on bosses with it.

Laser guidance is great. You can manouver your rockets into the back of berserkers, or at the weak points of a boss. You dont have to stand still to do that, in fact you really-really shouldnt. With their explosive radius you also dont need to "aim super-carefully".

Just ran a test of sorts. Started Chapter 13, went through some of it with Laser Guidance. Died and restarted (damn you Heroic!), this time taking Heavy Missiles. The result? I'm doing WAY better the second time 'round. In conclusion, ♥♥♥♥ Laser Guidance.

LOL Know what's better than Heavy Missiles? Laser Guided Multi Warhead Heavy Missiles with Atomic Upgrade... AKA a Fully Upgraded Rocket Launcher. :)

Got it. Chapters 14 through 16 should have enough money to get what I need in time for the fight against two Warlords, two Shamans, one Berserker, and all sorts of lesser demons for the shamans to revive.

well the rocket launcher in HL had the same sort of laser and it's actually pretty effective if the target moves around fast

haven't gotten the launcher in SW because it lags on my crappc but if it's slow then it's really useless
