Chapter 16 stuck at zilla fight (insane)

Hi guys, when I reach zilla in chapter 16 and we fight, at the moment he reaches low hp and tries to regerate I hit him and bring him to 0 hp (at least that's what I am seeing in his hp bar) but he doesn't die. I am hitting him like this mashing the left mouse button on him for over 2-3 minutes.
I decided to watch a video on youtube on how to defeat him and I saw that other people didn't even fight him, a cutscene where you cut his arm and get the last piece of the sword appear.
is my game bugged?

He have extremely fast health regeneration on insane, you probably just have to mash harder as you didnt bring him to 0 hp (altough you are very close)

no it was bugged.. i used a workaround.. i quickly fast savewith F5 and quickly fast load with F9

wait what? when do you save and load quickly? when he is regenerating?

i have exactly the same problem, the quick save didnt help me.

i had luck quick saving right before I knew he was gonna regen his life and then attack his face until his health is low then attack his hand or arm holding the whatever thing. should work. if not make a seperate save at that point and try and quick save quick load right after he starts regenerating, you should hopefully see him not regenerating nearly as much or you do twice as much damage. keep trying. now I gotta beat the final final boss....

Thanks for the tip, it worked for me! Zilla just kept regaining hp, but I quicksaved when his health bar was empty (yeah, I managed not to break my mouse and still empty his health haha) and after I loaded the game BOOM - one hit and he got Wanged :P

If you keep fighting him he starts to regenerate more slowly and you can eventually defeat him after at least three cycles (insane difficulty).
