How to use DIvider of heaven?

I had trouble getting past the first green sealed door in the game and after I pressed U to learn "Divider of Heaven", I still couldn't use it. I sorta figured it out by running the game on Linux Mint and the skill worked just fine there. I'm now at the blue statue and when I load this game on Linux, it just takes to a grayish screen with lines intersecting each other like a chained-link fence and I cannot do anything, it just stays there.

I managed to get the skill to work a couple of times on Windows when I was fiddling around with the key combinations, but now that I am at the statute, I cannot do it.

Simply double-tapping W and then quickly holding down left mouse button doesn't work on Windows?
Try repairing the game files if you haven't yet. I didn't run into that issue.
