The game just doesn't feel smooth
I'm playing maxed out with about 130 fps average, but the game just doesnt really feel smooth. Is there a reason for this or a fix?

I'm playing it now on a 4k TV with only 60fps vsync'd and its smooth as a buttered up, baby butt.

Now if only it would stop crashing

By smooth do you mean the hitboxes?
If so they will always be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

I had the same problem, the game has to run at either 60 FPS or 120 FPS and physics must be set to ultra or you get a weird stuttering ghosting look. I allowed the game to control refresh rate in the Nvidia control panel for the program settings and set the game to 120 in video settings. I also have vsync set to on global settings in the Nvida control panel and application controlled in the program settings. Anything that's not a multiple of 60 (probably 30) will stutter for me regardless of high framerates and gsync.

If you have a gsyn monitor, turn it off for this game (only) in the Nvidia control panel. It caused a weird stuttering too. Only game I've seen where gsync doesn't work. Good news is that ULMB mode looks even cleaner and the game never drops under 120.

To recap:

60 or 120 FPS only
Refresh rate controlled by game in Nvidia control settings
Physics set to Ultra (anything less causes a ghosting look)
V-sync on

Maybe you have stutter? try dissabling mirrors and triple buffer in game, would be good to know if you use intel/nvidia/amd hardware too.

V-Sync sometimes causes that and often drivers trying to force stuff on the game.

Eventually some system crap \ malicious software working in the background.

Nah, for first person games you almost always will see a benefit from high FPS. Maybe you don't notice much of a difference but for me it's a big deal. 60 FPS feels crap to control with a mouse.
