Battle system is just too basic and boring...
And apparently this game requires grinding to get past certain points. I don't know if I feel like continuing... Did anyone stop playing this game?

Nope, no grinding needed for the main quest. You could have trouble if you've managed to avoid every side quest they've got, I suppose, but doing side quests certainly doesn't count as grinding.

Have you checked the guides section?

Where have you gotten stuck?

this game is actually very deep, it just hides it pretty well.

The only reason i stop playing this game is i tend to move about to various games depending on my mood at the time, but I do pick this up fairly regularly, oddly enough ive never felt the battle system was basic/boring. In fact I rather enjoy it as a nice change of pace from most of my other rpgs.

On Rpgs, any true rpg is going to have a point now n then when u may have to 'grind' . Sometimes it is required in most games otherwise you're just going to have a tough time of it in some situations. Zloth's guides he made touches on that a bit though. If u approach this game expecting to level up your people in the same sense u might in another game u will make things difficult to urself, but skipping and avoiding as many fights as u can or only fighting a single enemy at a time is going to make things brutal for u as well.

Sometimes it takes a few re-loads until u see the effect this can have.

Personally, I wouldnt stop playing this game though. I really start to enjoy the battle system more n more as I'm able to increase the size of my Unions.

By no means is the battle system dry or boring, its unique and different. Quite enjoyable infact since you have no control over what moves the unions do aside from whether its mystic or not.

You don't have necessarily have to grind unless you try to bypass as much fighting as you can. Naturally fighting everything you run into will satisfy most of the leveling required. Plus if you go back and forth to get more resources through the dig points, you fight more and not really focus so much on just plain "grinding".

The battle system takes awhile to open up. How far are you in the game? It gets a lot deeper the more control you have over your party composition/the more skills you unlock.

Also I heard that grinding is actually counterintuitive if you do it too much. And I think you want to fight as many mobs at a time in a single battle, or you don't get nearly as much stat growth.

This game is kind of like FFX2 with the plot. If you do not do the side quests a large portion of the story is just left out. If you do the side quests however you will get a much better understanding of the game's world and characters, and even expeirance a much richer plot.

Hmm right this is a military strategy game with the variation of formations and commands. This is not your MMORPG, or what you call a weak battle system. Each one is for Flanks or the deadlocks. Only a strategist would understand this. Your mind is weak and thinks of just NIntendo 8-bit systems. lol

*sigh* So basically what you're saying is,

"You're opinion is different from mine, therefore you lack the ability to think critically."

There's no need to insult him because he can't get into the game. Also, this game is FAAAAAAAR from being a "military strategy game" that requires a "stratgeic" mind. Its a generic RPG that has a slightly different playstyle, but it is NOT as complicated as you claim...

That said, I love the game. But its one of those games that you either like or hate, I don't feel like it'll grow on ya if you already hate it.

He's also saying it to somebody who just posted once back in January and never responded again. Trying to pick a fight with somebody who's been gone for three months pretty much says it all.

It'd probably help if the game itself actually described any of its arcane systems to you at some point.
