Emmy got the nightbloom...
After a few hours I noticed that her duel-sword art stopped advancing because she now has one katana and one sword 0.0

She just learned Third Eye before that. Then I decided to train her one-handed katana arts. But looks like she can't learn the last art (Snowfall) even when she had Swift Helm Split IV. And idea to save her?

With combat arts, 2 things control them: weapon and wield style.

With Emmy she has access to one handed, powergrip and dual wield. Most of her learnt skills are of the latter.

Her dual wield arts would continue to advance, but she would lose access to sword specific dual wield arts like moulinet, and would eventually pick up third eye and go from there.

If you turned off all but her one handed arts, (to get snowpetal I assume) then she would not be far off snowfall since she already has helm split learnt which is one handed-katana specific. Snowfall is the highest tier art for one handed-katana, so it might take a while to get since all of Emmy's training prior to you getting her the Nightbloom, was with swords.

Every art requires certain amount of xp to be learned. If you didn't try to improve her other one-handed arts (Double Slash is actually more powerful than Helm Split btw) so you have to continue grinding. Also, making chain like 370+ gives 2X expierience, it's was the best way to develop arts (in Mystic Seal formation of course) that I know.
Better disable all dual wield arts, one-handed should be set as default. And Snowpetal is avialable for union leader only.

I have been grinding though I'm stilling wondering what takes Emmy so long to learn Snowfall. I mean, Blocter learned Rift Cleaver after he got Mighty Cyclone III and Darien got Heaven Pierce after Mighty Fleche III. But Emmy doesn't learn Snowfall even after she has Swift Helm Split IV and Snowpetal...

You need level 20 Wield Style and level 16 Weapon Type for your Snowfall. In my case getting high levels in Wield Style was easy. Working on Weapon Type(WT) was a lot slower. I was mostly using normal attacks. Maybe if you focus on CA commands it will be faster?

Just so you know, Katana Weapon Type level is behind in levels compared to Blocter etc because Emmy did not use katana from the start.

What level Helm Split is, is irrelevant. Since Helm Split is based on Katana WT(lvl 8) level you can get an estimate on how far is left when you learn Helm Split for the first time. But the I-V level does not affect it in any way.

Look here http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/Developing_Arts at first 3 tables. Since you learned Helm Split (9 lvl) - that means you have ~607xp. Developed it to tier IV it's +366xp. Ok, you have ~1000xp total. To learn Snowpetal you need level 15 = 1600xp, so you already have more than 1600, good, but to learm Snowfall you need 2600xp (lvl 20). 2600 to obtain and 'just' 797 to reach tier V

You are reading it wrong. Tier IV is Helm Split level. Helm Split level has nothing to do with the requirement for Snowfall (I just said that in the previous post). WS level is not the same as CA skill level. If Helm Split gets +366xp it does _not_ mean that WS gets +366xp. And it is very likely he has more WS levels than he needs. It is almost certain that he is lacking WT levels (because Nightbloom is other WT than Longsword/Tuck).

Or it could be that I am reading your post wrong and misunderstand what you are trying to say.

Yep, handen, I'm totally wrong)
Another try. OP has Snowpetal = katana lvl 15 = 1960xp (WT). Required lvl 20 is 2660xp (WT). And it is still alot of grinding, right?
TLR is so complicated, however..

Not quite. Required Wield Style (WS) level for Snowfall is 20. Required Weapon Type (WT) level is 16. Maybe I guessed wrong before and he is missing WS levels. WS levels are really easy to get though.

Snowpetal has WS lvl 15 and WT lvl 15.

OP: If you are having trouble getting enough WS levels then I am sure that normal attacks are good at increasing WS levels with, because that is what I have been focusing on rather than CA commands. I think I have about three times as many WS levels compared to WT levels.

Great. I'll try it a bit longer.

You need to raise her wield style in Katana. You might think you have trained her enough, but haven't. Most of the times some of my leaders didn't seem to learn a specific art or, he didn't change into the class I wanted him to it was a matter of raising his/her wield style level.

You are getting the terminology wrong which can easily cause confusion. Wield Style(WS) is how you wield your weapon. One handed, Power grip etc. There is no katana WS. Katana is a Weapon Type(WT).

I don't know if your Emmy has finally learnt Snowpetal, but my Emmy has just learnt it. I checked with a trainer and noticed that she made it there just when her Katana reached level 15.

Let her use her one-hand arts and she will make it, if she hasn't already.
