How to know whether a weapon has technique or power modifier?
As the title says, is there a way to know whether a weapon has a technique(nimble, swift) or a power (mighty, peerless) modifier for combat arts?

All my combat arts on Rush are nimble and swift - I don't want to screw up his progress whenever I receive or craft a new weapon.

The "modifier" under the weapon tab is a bit misleading. There's pierce, slash, maul and bludgeon attributes but as far as I know these have no bearing on the combat arts.

Of course, I can just wiki a specific weapon to look for its attributes - but this is an exercise in frustration. To have to wiki every time you get a new sword is just bloody tiring. Appreciate your help.

Unfortunately the Wiki seems the only option for finding that out (apart from using a monitor program like remnantAssistant for outright checking on the modifier values).

Fortunately these modifiers improve the efficiency of a combat art only between 10% ... 30%, so while this is still a considerable amount, it's nothing compared to the increase in efficiency caused by the tiers (I ... V), which is a factor 3-4 (without modifiers) or 4-5 (with them).

What you mentioned also called 'modifier' (Slash, Maul, etc.) are damage types.
If a weapon's damage type matches the damage type of an art, its damage slightly increases (3-4% for 'Mighty', ~10-20% for 'Godly').
Unfortunately this is bugged on a lot of weapons, so you'd have to test that one out for every weapon.
But most remnant weapons work correctly, so giving Emmy the Nightbloom will give her Acala's Wrath an extra damage boost of ~14%, due to the Godly Slash.

I have noticed an odd sensation that a midsized rapier will do double the magic damage when a enhanced two handed katana 35 mysticism can miss a shot or do less damage, how is that possible?

Your sentence is a bit hard to read, but if I understand correctly, you're wondering why a Rapier with 24 MYS can do more mystic damage than a Battle Otachi with 35 MYS?

There are a lot of factors influencing damage, like morale, INT of the unit, the base damage of the art itself, weaknesses of the enemies against elemental modfiers or damage modifiers, MYS of the weapon, the randomness on top of the MYS component, extra hits, critical hits, etc.
MYS is only one part of the whole picture, so it's well possible to observe a 'weaker' weapon sometimes outperform a 'better' one...
