The Last Remnant

The Last Remnant

Fiery idol is infuriating.
From what I can tell, this fight has a good deal of luck added to it, and the longer the fight grinds on, the worse things get for you. Take out the assisting mobs ASAP, then play full defense and keep your HP high, I get that. The wildcard here often comes down to how often the idol uses sigil.

What I want to know is if it is even possible to keep morale from going fully into the red in this fight. Every time idol attacks your moralle drops, and again for each use of the Oot AoE.

You can't stop it, but can minimise it with a bit of luck. Once the other mobs are dealt with, your morale should go up a bit, then its pot luck as to whether or not it spams the sigil attack or not after that. I usually retry if things go too badly.

Finally got it. BR 3 chain 41 Turn 9. Didn't use sigil until turn 5, fortunately.

I am going to return to dual katanas now.

I know what you mean about Sigil. I'm doing a low BR run myself, managed to kill Fiery Idol first time at BR2 without many problems, however, there's a boss coming soon called Namul Sin & Niram Sin who, at BR3 was truly infuriating for me.

The only way I managed to do it in the end was to equip the Commanders Rapier simply because it added more defence.

Having a high BR is definitely a no go against the Fiery Idol. First time I fought the Fiery Idol, I had a BR of about 65-75, and I got creamed every damn time. Had to start a new game, just because I couldn't defeat the damn thing. Tried for about 20 times in a row, before I rage quitted. Didn't pick up the game again for about a month.

You must grind some levels before you approach him or he will kick your ass so hard... so hard. The mobs before him are quite easy, but he is a monster. You can see the difference in HP on special wiki for PC and console version.

You shouldn't need to grind levels at all (unless by "grind" you mean "do the sidequests").
Get use to moral going down the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in boss fights. He's not that hard compared to some other bosses I have encoutered though. I find the sidequest bosses to be some of the hardest in the game lol. FYI the eagles nest is a huge difficulty spike your best bet is to get off some gae bolgs to get rid of the trash mobs.

Grinding for levels is the WORST thing you can do in this game. If your going to do any grinding at all, it should be for the items needed to improve your gear.

I think you are talking about the xbox version, as the grinding issue was fixed for PC.

I giggle at low BR runners. I guess it's one way to make your game artificially more boring. Not do sidequests and run away from normal mobs until you start to wonder why you lose 20 fights against an easy boss in a row.

However in PC version, overgrinding will still kill you because party members gear outdated to BR.
I run with low BR because fights are boring and I want to avoid them what say you giggler.

Yep just pop in a cheat engine. Give your partes 6000-8000 health and give yourself 5 or so parties.
