apperently its not forever? i assume you've read trough this comment chain
and TLRPlanner is wierd with the focus type.
check the upgrade materials under "items" for him, thats usually a sure way to see if the upgrade path is actually what its going to be. As you probably know by now, characters can warp weapons into others, unrelated to the real upgrade path of weapons.
I'd read that it wasn't long lasting, but wanted to make sure just in case, given how strange it is looking for me.
Well he is on the path for the Seere Dominus, but I only see it listed as if only one weapon was being upgraded, so three items being asked for.
this is normal. weapon upgrades are made in "steps". each step is only initiated if the previous step has been completed. to actually upgrade, a minimum battle rank has to have been reached. Many of those steps only feature one hand (main / offhand) upgrade at a time, some upgrade both hands simultaneously.

i'm sure you've seen this list somewhere, maybe in nef's trainer. if not, there it is. it shows you the upgrade paths as they are saved in the upgrade directions file. It's pretty messy, im only linking it in case you dont understand what i ment with upgrade steps.
Each path goes from left to right, left most is the path number, the numbers that go down are the BR (for your party) required, left row is mainhand, right row is offhand and then it shows the BR of the next step etc.
Seems like I'm not missing out though, and just have to keep playing normally, maybe even upgrade the Seere I am holding and maybe he'll take it in his offhand. Seems like a good bet since the wikia says the Seere Dominus is next on the combat list.
Thank you anyhow.
The best way to cure him of that is to set him as a Union Leader and make sure the only thing he does is Mystic Arts. That way you'll be guaranteed to give him a Mystic Focus.
