You can also expose wires or install them in walls to create a grid to connect appliances to these wall wires transmit power along these tiles as long as they are next to each other meaning you can expose 10 tiles along a wall and connect one tile to the power source and all the connected tiles will have power running to them.
Remember to plug you appliances into the power grid or run extension cords to them if you want them further from a wall like a lamp in the middle of a room.
