However i feel your autosave frequency should be faster than you describe. In my settings it says autosave every 50 turns or every 5 minutes of real time. Maybe you could reduce those. It sounds like you lost more than 5 minutes of play though so maybe you have different settings.
But I mean, this game never crashes for me. Usually losing a run like this is because I throw a grenade as far as I can, the explosion will be off screen but a piece of shrapnel will still managed to give me arterial bleeding.
Just crazy crap like this.
But yeah.
I didn't even mention like sleeping in the back of the sugar house when the first portal storm hits and two bandits run inside out of nowhere and start beating me in my bed with belts only for me to kill them both with my hatchet.
That event was made scarier because the day before I was clearing a new section of the trailer park and a mi-go starts closing in on me.
Pull out my shotgun and....birdshot doesn't hurt mi-gos.
Switch back to hatchet and just barely make it flee with nearly no torso health left.
Still need to fight a small group of zeds that my shotgun blast attracted.
Get home, heal up a few torso bars and wake up getting beaten with belts.
Had a lot of great experiences on this file and then poof.
