Which version to play
I've been playing the steam version for a while but I was wondering is the steam release the same version as the stable release thats free? Or is one version more up to date than the other? Is there a version I should be playing, I've downloaded the catapult launcher and was wondering if I'm wasting my time and the steam version is superior.

As far as I know the Steam version and the online stable version are the same (0.G). As far as I understand it it is the commitment of the dev that published this on steam to keep updating the steam version as soon as new stable versions pop up (which usually is a few years apart anyways).

So the only thing you are missing with the Steam version is the ability to play the unstable versions.

Awesome thank you!

That all really depends on you. Most people would suggest with the experimental version because it's being updated all the time. However, they won't say that it is not stable at all and will crash, and produce errors. It's experimental for a reason. I would not suggest it in the slightest to someone who is just getting into the game.

The experimental version also tends to have very unbalanced features, experimental features. While it's "cool" to get those new features they can often completely change or disrupt a playthrough.

I would definitely recommend playing stable builds instead of experimental, unless you really know what you're doing and are willing to put up with everything breaking.

Whether you get that build on Steam or online is no difference.

This is all good advice yeah. Personally, even though I develop the game, I still prefer to actually *play* on stable, I play*test* on experimental.

I am a huge fan of the steam version and like supporting the publisher Korggent, but if you're not sure yet, I would get the free version of stable and try it out. Don't pay for the game until you know you like it.

I've never had a single crash on the Steam version.

I've got over 300 hours in this Steam version, and I don't recall the game ever crashing or having save issues. It might be something specific to your setup. Verify the steam files?
yeah i did that and it finds a lot of stuff that is wrong, corrects it maybe but when i go in game and make new game, same thing happens

i alos tried uninstalling and reinstalling but no luck either there
