Quake II detention center Crash

Hi I'm playing the old game Quake II and I installed a patch that let me play the game and with the music. The problem is when I get to the detention center level and I go to the place where there are a lot of marines making sounds of pain, a text on the left up corner of the screen appears and says "player sound is not spawing" or something like that and then my game crashes. Has anyone else have this problem and know how to fix it?
