Maniaplanet uses OpenAL, and there are possibly issues with the 32/64 bit versions which have been distributed recently.
so i figured i could give it another go but then i realized i had no sound
the sound is also missing in valley and canon..
and thanks but i already installed openal and there is still no sound
i had my sound settings in windows set to 24bit 48000 hz (i used this for sound recording reasons) and i forgot about it.. but now setting it back to 16bit 44100hz everything works fine!
Anyways, thanks for having shared your solution! Enjoy the game now
what? you should be able to change it somewhere..
Select the default device, typically "Loudspeakers" with your sound card named below in gray, and click on the "properties" button on the bottom right.
A new dialog menu shows up, there select the "extended" tab (or just navigate through all the tabs there until you find it), where there is the default audio format for this output.
Some sound cards have own control panels where the setting is probably more easy to find.
Something like ASIO4all?
Or a mode of your soundcard? Like specific for audio production?

Headphones is normally only a secondary output which inherits the primary output's settings.
Made a little progress, it's definitely related to the bundled openAL libs - I delete them from the TM folder and sound works until it redownloads them after logging in. :/
Check drivers, nothing. Tried admin mode and compatability, nothing. Not sure what to do.

Here's instructions on how to do it.
