Installing Custom car Skins/Models

I downloaded a Skin/Model off Carpark and have tried putting it in both StadiumCar and CommonCar and also tried putting it in archived and just as a folder with no results? Am i missing something i've tried the Carpark FAQ etc

i never used them

but i think you should use http://www.maniapark.com/ , thats the same site but for maniaplanet, this site has opened with the first tm2 title, if you look in the faq it reads a bit different with the locations, and maybe the cars are different too. maybe that helps?

How to Use Custom Car Models Trackmania 2 Stadium

After lots of looking on how to get this going appropriately I decided to post a quick how-to on getting a custom 3D car model going in TM2 Stadium. It’s actually much easier than it seems, so here we go!

Locate your StadiumCar folder. It should be in your Documents folder under “ManiaPlanet” then in Skins, then Models. (Typical path on Windows 7 is Documents\ManiaPlanet\Skins\Models\StadiumCar). If this folder does not exist, create it.
Next, locate the model that you would like to use (ManiaPark is a good resource for this). You need both the .zip AND the .loc (locator) files.
Place BOTH files (the .zip and the .loc) in the StadiumCar folder identified above.
If TrackMania 2 is open, close it now and restart it. If it’s closed, open it. This is required to allow the game to find the new files.
FIREWALL & Port Forward!!!
You will need to make sure that your firewall and port forwards have the following ports and protocols forwarded and unblocked to your computer in order for the skin to work:
2350 UDP & TCP
3450 UDP & TCP
Now go into Stadium, then click on “Profile.”
Next click on “Models.”
Now select the appropriate model you want (they show up in the beginning of the list (all the way to the left)).
Hit back to the main menu.
ENJOY!
NOTE: These models aren’t small and will take time for other users to download them, until which time they will see a silver F1 car. This is normal and will resolve itself as the model is downloaded by other users.

Ive downloaded a skin (lexus LFA) some minutes ago from http://www.maniapark.com/ and it was pretty easy to see it in game. I´ve just followed the instruction of the steam guide:

if you use www.maniapark.com instead of www.carpark.com in my opinion it should work.

Ok since posting this subject, i tried 2 different skins 1 from each site and they both worked fine, i guess the one that didn't work was just a freak of nature

I can't download skin from maniapark or carpark ? any1 know why i cant ?

Maybe your internet browser blocks pop-up. When you click on download on maniapark, it should open a pop-up to download the skin.

The mania park link isn't working, does anyone know why? It 403's on my end and I tried creating an account, but it won't go through.
