What is the difference between Trackmania 2 and Trackmania nations?

The title says it all. And is Trackmania Nations F2P? The store page says third part.

Well tm2 is basically the same / a copy of just brought upto date / inline with the new mania games. But it does have a few new blocks/ new campaign in solo. Its cheaper then canyon / valley but deffo worth buying if you like stadium. You can f2p but have to watch 1 in 5 i think on TMNF but it is only stadium, i bought the star edition TMNF awhile back and you get all the car/styles the game is worth it to. But yes the stadium part of each are sorta mirror copys with the tm2 being more upto date maybe a few fix's? new blocks and just all round better i would say :) Either way TM2 games now have demos and TMNF stadium is f2p so you can check out before you buy

The difference is about $10 vs. free and will tick off anyone that forks out the cash to find out after that they could have gotten the original TMNF for free... Abiet slightly older but just as fun. This just sounds like good ol' fashoned greed to me. And that always goes over well. But, I did like TMNF so much I saved up and bought Trackmania United. (lots of fun)

Sigh. Just stop already with the negativity about it costing you actual money you mongrols. Right now it's $5 on sale which is a steal honestly. Yeah TMUF was free, so what? You still had limitations with the free version of star edition. They were nice enough to even give you a demo with unlimited time to play. Yeah, it's a demo server with only a few tracks. What do you expect? *throws table and walks out*

The biggest and main difference between the two games are that with Nation you had full servers 24/7. With TM 2 the servers are absolute empty 24/7. The community died...

There are more players on TrackMania Nations Forever but you can find great servers not empty on TM² Stadium for sure. Plus there is no freezone system on TM² Stadium, it means that you can play all the time whereas on TMNF each five round on a server you become spectator and can't play. There are some game limitation on TrackMania Nations Forever and no limitation on TM² Stadium.
