Well, most people playing tm2 dont use steam for anything related to TM. Check out Mania exchange or Maniaplanet to get a better idea.

Yeah I use the Maniaplanet launcher so don't play through Steam. But I agree that compared to Trackmania (1) Stadium, not many people play Trackmania 2 Stadium.. but it's still an awesome game and I always find people to play with - even on the even less popular Canyon and Valley versions.

There are a good amount of players online during peak hours. The best thing about this game is you only need a few people to have a good time :)

I use the launch codes from Steam for Track Mania 2. I lack the computer skills or knowledge to launch the game any other way. I paid a premium for this game of $2.49. Many play for free but I was a fool and paid a kings ransom for the game.

I would have to say many people prefer TM1 over TM2, TM1 is free being one of the reasons. But TM2 just doesn't stick with me as much as the first. Probably a case of nostalgia but also the controls for 2 just dont meld with me. Many TM players arent grinding as there's nothing to achieve but pure fun, so many play on and off throughout the week or so. It's a game youll pump hours in over the course of a month, not so much all in one day
