If you can't log in to ManiaPlanet 4, here's what I did:

You might be loading up Trackmania 2 Stadium today to find out the game says your password is incorrect. Upon trying to reset your password, you get a message saying your activation key doesn't exist. And playing offline doesn't work, because ManiaPlanet will be looking for game data it hasn't downloaded yet (because you can't log in). So how do you fix this? Here's what I did:

1. Just go to http://player.maniaplanet.com in your web browser (Firefox, Chrome, Edge, etc.)
2. Don't log in! Instead, click "Forgot Password?" and go through the steps to reset
3. Instead of sending you a broken activation email, ManiaPlanet will just email you a new randomly generated password
4. Use this new password to log in to Trackmania 2
5. ManiaPlanet will then download extra data that wasn't included in the Steam patch (for whatever reason)
6. Play and enjoy

The only downside I can tell is that there's no way to change your ManiaPlanet password anymore. You have to live with the new, randomly generated password forever, so make sure you keep it somewhere safe.

For the forgot password, you can ask for a new password in game by running the launcher, then sign in -> click on "I already have an account" and then you can select I fogot my password.

This is the instructions I got to help a player get into there account

Normally you need to be able to login to the ManiaPlanet Player Page in order to authenticate your account and use it with Mania Exchange.

However, it was only recently that we started using ManiaPlanet as the way to authenticate on Mania Exchange.

Since your account is several years old, you can still use our old login system, if you remember the password you originally set up for Mania Exchange. you can login with that information at this

link: https://tm.mania-exchange.com/auth/login

If that doesn't work, then a password reset for Mania Exchange might work. Again, this doesn't affect the game at all.

If you open a new incognito/private browser window, and put your email into this page:

https://accounts.mania-exchange.com/auth/forgot

you should get an email from us and be able to reset the password for your account.
