William Tables: Gap between flippers so big
Compared to the Zen tables, the gap between the flippers on William tables is much bigger. is that by design, or is it meant to be harder?

It's so wide that it even covers the entire screen of my computer.

Joke aside, it's not just William other tables too. Some unfortunately have a very big gap in design, but not most of them they where made too wide on purpose. At least make the gap smaller, ( so I can see both flippers on the screen ) to be less annoying.

This doesn't sound right, I can't think of a single table where flippers are horizontally cropped out of view. What resolution are you using and do you have any examples?

In those tables with wide flippers, in many cases, the ball goes right through in the middle, its impossible to do anything about it. Most Zen tables have flippers where if u move one or both, it would block the ball from going in between.

On William tables, its a completely different story. Only reason I can think of is to make things harder on purpose.

That really sounds like a display issue to me.

The Bally/Williams tables are based on their real counterparts and are designed with an emphasis on difficulty. Keep in mind, real pinball machines were design to be fun and eat coins. There are tournament setups that make these machines even more difficult. The Zen original machines were never intended to eat coins, so they can focus on providing casual entertainment. IMO, only the Bally/Williams tables are worth buying and playing.

I actually enjoy Zen tables a lot more. William tables are my favorite except for that large flipper gap, it ruins it for me. When the pinball is right in the middle, there is nothing that can stop it, and its frustrating

Welcome to pinball. Part of what makes real pinball great in the first place is the challenge and skill of shot-making and recovery.

I've competed in a few IRL tournaments just a few days ago -- it's meant to be this way. There was a Ghostbusters that had a wide gap and led to a lot of center drains.

Do you nudge the ball often? I’m not good at it, but pros use it effectively and are able to last quite some time on these tables.

You have to pay attention to how the ball bounces off other assets on the table, and, if you nudge at the right moment, you can prevent the ball from draining. Also, many of those times that the ball drains, it does so very predictably, and once you see what's going on, preventing the drain will become easier. Also, if the ball starts moving too fast, catching it with a flipper will take all the momentum, spin out of the ball, making shots easier. Hope that helps!

There is no nudging the table option?
