EDIT:
Even your wording suggests this:
"Mel, just grab this old photos of you with Gary and slap them over table at his office and say: "Let's do it!"
It doesn't work like that.....
E D I T: good advice - dont make farther guesses of what i know about this story, so bunch of people who are long enough follow this story would't have good laugh on you
Even Stern lost licenses. Notice you cannot buy AC/DC anymore?
What you're not getting is, it's nowhere near as simple as saying "I want ____ table"....
They announced 6 Williams tables for this year which they corrected by half and now it's October and they haven't released a single one this year.
One big disappointment for those who don't play the originals.
That's not why Zen isn't getting Stern. Farsight completely botched their opportunity with them, now Stern is more cautious around everyone else. That said, you're leaving much on the table if Zen ditches Williams for Stern right now.
Looks like you aren't keeping up with the news. Read the description below, it clearly says "this year".

Expect single table releases exclusive to double licenses, like Star Trek TNG and Twilight Zone.
I said it in the second sentence of my post, in a slightly different way.
Why would getting a license with Stern mean that Zen had to "ditch" the Williams license? Zen has a variety of licenses besides Williams, just not for recreations.
Also, while I have no doubt that Farsight made more than a few mistakes in the situation, it seems unlikely that Stern is completely without any responsibility, even if it was just a matter of having failed to make sure that certain provisions were a part of the license agreement.
There are many possibilities going forward. Stern and Zen could come to terms and making a new licensing deal. Or perhaps we'll see an entirely new "Stern Pinball" game from another developer.
I've always thought Magic Pixel did a pretty good job with ZP, but they've never gone beyond the Zaccaria license, other than the Postal tables. Development on ZP seems to have slowed or come to a halt. Maybe that's because Magic PIxel has run out of enthusiasm for working on it, but maybe they've just run out of material for new tables,
I'm not suggesting Magic Pixel should put Stern tables in ZP, but maybe an entirely new "Stern Pinball" game from them is a possibility?
