Cabinet Mode - I have to Reload Configuration every time
Hi all - 3 screen user here with Cabinet mode. Every time I close and reopen the app (which is often because I use a Pinup Popper frontend), the DMD and Backglass windows are all stacked on top of the main screen.

I can mouse to the normal game screen, click to see the normal game screen up front, then go to Settings -> Reload configuration.

I've double checked my screen settings are saved in the .ini file, however it doesn't appear to load it on opening the game. I have to Do the Settings -> Cabinet Mode -> Reload Configuration every single time the game is closed / open.

Is there a command line parameter or something I could tweak to make sure it's loading the Backglass / DMD window locations from the .ini file every time without having to go click on the Reload Configuration button?

This happens in both Pinball FX and Pinball M.

What happens if you load up the normal game outside of Popper first, directly in FX and save your settings in game . Then exit completely via normal game ESC? That way you it should have saved everything correctly? After that, then try Popper and see if it works? I have a 3 monitor setup and it's working for me (I use Popper too as my frontend).

This is true for me as well. FX3, FX, and M. Everything else about cab mode works just fine, but I have to reload config every time…

I’ve been looking for a solution… is this really an unusual issue? Is there a startup command I can enter at launch?

I launch from steam; I don't use Popper.

Reported this maybe the fault is on our side.

@Akos - Please add my name to that list. I have to reload config every time I start either Pinball FX and/or Pinball M as well.

Its started to do the same thing for me. Seems like it worked ok before the last update but I also updated to a 3 screen setup about that time and just got into FX so it may or may not have used to work. But it definately is not remembering the cab mode settings. It also will do the same thing if I just launch the game manually from Steam (or desktop shortcut). The DMD will be overlayed onto the game menu display until I go into settings to reload the config.

After posting this I recalled I'd had a similar issue with FX3 and had traced it to using a remote desktop program (teamviewer) to connect to my cabinet system (Legends Pinball HD). I was doing some remote config/setup when I noticed the issue in Pinball FX. I just tried it without the remote desktop connection and it worked fine. Remembered the setup and showed the screens normally.

Not sure what effect a remote desktop program would have here but it does. Thought I'd pass along the info to see if it might help the others with the issue.

More than likely you're using the app on another PC. Whenever you run FX/FX3 on a computer without cabinet mode it kills the config on you cab that is setup with cabinet mode. Dumbest thing ever. Only solution is to switch to offline mode on your other computers.
