Report a translation problem
RTX 4080, Intel 14900K, 64GB RAM
my Monitor supports 3840 x 1080, but i cant use this resolution
and it looks all like 800x600
That is, something other than "worse" - something that doesn't rely on the subjective judgement of the viewer?
I think the easiest way to explain this problem would be to post a screenshot of the game.
That's an aspect ratio issue, PFX does not support ultrawide e.g. 21:9 / 32:9.
I don't know about "easiest" but it's a good place to start. However, For this to be very meaningful, you would have to get two screenshots - one from each game, showing pretty much the same view of the same table, so that you could point out how they're different (and presumably, which is "better").
This has already been done by others, and in those cases, at least, there was no discernible difference, at least as far as I could see. But hey, maybe it depends on the table.
FX sports a very soft image due to Unreal 4 engine's TAA solution and the colours are oddly desaturated.
There's also a pronounced black ghosting effect that's evident during movement of balls or flippers (with ball trails turned off).
I have Ryzen 9 5950X & RTX 4070 TI
Got back to FX3 and it looks sharper and image quality is better.
Tried FX for search to find reasons to move forward but did not find any.
Maybe someday when Tables are transferred free or few €uros I consider this again.
By that time maybe this FX is coming obsolete again and I don't find this appealing practice.
Good Day
PFX and FX3 look much the same to me. Almost identical in most cases.
(I've A-B switched between screenshots of both at all resolutions, including 4K, and RT.)
RT doesn't seem make a lot of difference except for frame rate.
HDR is a noticeable difference, but it's not my thing.
3060, 1440p, highest settings, 120fps.
If I had to sum up PFX, compared to I'd say it's "more of the same" except for longer loading times and a clunkier UI.
On the one hand it's a considerable achievement that they were able to faithfully replicate the look (if not the feel) of FX3 with the transition to the Unreal 4 pipeline. But on the other hand, these tables do not look "remastered".
I think the real benefits of the UE shift will be in new tables (esp. DMDs) and Zen's costs/productivity, rather than improving existing tables.
Yeah but some tables just look great and can tell it's a decent step up. Garfield for example just looks so sharp and llovely. In general yeah it's better but not huge.
Agree on the loading, the after game time is slightly annoying. I know it's only mayb 6 secs untill score comes up but ruins the flow to get into a new game.
Also miss the progression of the table mastery think they should have kept that all the same.
And now in 2024 I'm coming out pinball FX on good gear (RTX4000Serie and TV LG OLED, LG G3), Pinball M a hdr 4000... Crazy stuff, it's like rediscovering every pinball machine...
Pinball FX is just the best pinball game in the world especially with Uevr (which I discovered last month (with valve index) LOL and now I really enjoy Pinball FX (this game is made for VR or bright OLED TV.) lol the pc screens, it's the worst serious scam... I even had a G9 240Hz, and it's a myth the 240 FPS A lot of games are limited to 150 fps, ...
