Cabinet mode back glass images?
I just saw a YouTube video about Pinball FX cabinet mode and the guy in the video mentioned several times about having to provide your own back glass images for cabinet mode. That seemed very strange to me. Is this true, or is this still the case?

This is still the case for now. Given official External DMD support by Freezy, this shows they can do much more for cabinet users.

General info on back glass usage is featured (amongst other things) in the official Pinball FX FAQ page on the link below. May answer any other questions that you might have pertaining to cabinet mode.

There really wasn't any info on back glass at this link, but from there I was able to find a whole separate cabinet mode FAQ. Thanks for the information.

There looks to be a lot there. I'll read through as I can, but honestly, it seems like cabinet mode is still in need of a lot of work. If I have to go through this much work, find my own images, download them and set them up, I'll probably just go with VPX. I may look into adding Pinball FX to my cabinet later, if they ever get around to refining it and cleaning it up.

Thanks again for the information.

lol it took me literally 10 seconds to set these up. So dramatic. Download the pictures, pop them in a folder, its done. Set cabinet mode up in less than 10 minutes. Maybe this isnt a hobby for you if thats too difficult

FAQ on Cabinet mode : https://www.pinballfx.com/?page_id=7754
There are 2 image types. One, which you need to name PFX.png will serve as the default background of your backglass.

The other type is table-specific images. Each table has a number, and you’ll need to copy your desired backglass images of each table into the mods directory. Name them according to the table number, such as Table_29 for Adventure Land. The images must be in PNG format

Mod directory: “/FolderWhereTheGameInstalled/PinballFX/Mods/Cabinet/”
