I'm not sure if this discussion is related to Pinball FX or FX3, so apologies if my post is in the wrong place. I've been playing Pinball FX3 a few years. The FX versions of the same FX3 games I"m finding many with bad flipper response. I have to hit the flipper keys twice as hard to get the same response I did on the FX3 version.
I'm using a Lenovo gaming PC with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Super graphics card. I love the FX interface but the flipper issue is not making the switch from FX3 worth it.
what the hell is this propaganda picture profile
for what it's worth, all issues have been resolved in latest patch for me, except i still get those huge latency spikes on flipper with the official XBox pad over bluetooth.
It plays correctly if i use it wired over USB, or use any 2.4GHZ wireless pad, or keyboard.
Anything wireless is going to have a higher latency than wired. I'm on PC and the latency has greatly been diminished by the last patch; 06-29-23 for PC on Steam. I was playing at 120FPS on an 144Hz monitor, and, a wired keyboard. Your monitor/television is also a source of added latency; some are worse than others. It would probably be more helpful if people listed their hardware, including displays, so the developers can see who's being affected most by the latency and what the root cause may be. Another thing that can be done is to disable Vsync and use an FPS limiter instead, as Vsync will add some input latency as well. There are many things that cause latency. Anyway, hopefully the next patch will optimize the game and even more of the input lag will go away.
I'm in the same situation. Pinball FX3 works great on my custom build PC with 8-Core AMD Processor, 32GB of RAM and RTX 2060 ROG edition, decided to see what this was like and the input lag is pretty bad, as I write this comment its been exactly 4 months since the game was released. For a pinball platform that has a broken input system, how was this even release in the first place?
I know that. What I'm experiencing is a full second or more of lag that only occurs when flipping a fast moving ball. I assume it's a driver issue, whether microsoft or intel's bluetooth drivers. After the recent PFX update, It only happens with the specific xbox series wireless pad, not other wireless controllers. Even my switch bluetooth controller's perform normally.
Yeah...that sounds more like a driver issue. I would check forums and do a web search to see if others have any issues with that particular controller. That's why I said it would be helpful to list your full specs/hardware, so the developers can isolate the issue. 1sec+ delay would make pinball, and most games, unplayable. Also, if you can find someone else with a similar setup, you can see if they have the same input latency issues. If not, it could be something defective in your setup, corrupt drivers, outdated drivers, etc. Is it all games, or just FX4 with the latency issues on that controller?
