Found out I'm a simp for authentic music and voices
I'm embarrassed to admit that I just found this out about myself, but I'll own it. I'm apparently a simp for authentic music and voices to the point where I can't play tables like Jaws, Marvel, or Jurassic Park.

Not sure WHY this is specifically. I think it has something to do with what I liked about pinball to begin with. I grew up playing Addams family at my local arcade. I'm not an actual fan of the Addams family in particular, but I LOVE the table. A lot of that has to do with the great use of IP in sound effects and Voice overs. Same with Indiana Jones. I don't actually LOVE that table design, but I do love the nostalgic feeling when I'm playing it and I get authentic voices. The list goes on and on with Star Wars TNG, Twilight Zone, and even T2...I actively do not like that table, but I love the use of the IP so I always drop a few quarters in it when I bump into it in the wild.

By contrast there are a heap of awesome tables that never really made my radar because they weren't an identifiable IP. Over time I've come to love Mars Attacks, Bride of Pinbot (AMAZING table), and Medieval Madness among others, but that's only after actively seeking out other tables. The initial hook wasn't there like I had for the identifiable IP's.

This brings me to the Zen Original tables. Star Wars games are fine. They have the authentic music, and most voices (Vader, Yoda, etc.) are spot-on to the point where they don't take me out, but if I fire up Jaws, Back To the Future, or any of the Marvel tables, I honestly STRUGGLE to get into them with the voices and music. They simply take me out.

Originals are totally fine, but apparently if established IP's exist and don't use real voices or Music, they just don't connect with me :(

Agreed. The jaws voice is a bit funny to me because it reminds me of the old peg-leg sea-man from family guy

I really only care about the Williams tables, but I will admit that being 50 years old and having seen the movie Jaws countless times it is freaking weird not to hear the right voices.
