Currently, as far as I know, there shouldn't be any problems with the game. From your description, I assume there might be some problems with your game files created by the game when it has launched.
To make sure you have clean start every time you redownload it, I'd suggest you to remove the game manually. Go to the Steam folder where Passion on Display is installed, click on it and delete it. When removing the game using Steam app, sometimes, some files are not removed (maybe they are corrupted).
After removing the game manually, I also recommend you to remove other game files which are stored here:
C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Roaming\RenPy\PassionOnDisplay
There are also game files (saves and some other important game files, which are created after launching the game for the first time). Remove the entire folder manually too, so you will have 100% clean start.
Now, when you removed the game manually, and the folder I mentioned before, redownload the game and launch it.
If this doesn't help, you can refund the game. Developers are not responsible for refunding the games. That's what you do on Steam app and with Steam support. To request a refund for a game on Steam, you must meet certain conditions as outlined by Steam's refund policy. Basically, you have to request a refund within 14 days of purchase and if you have played the game for less than 2 hours.
How to Request a Refund:
1. Visit the Steam Help page (help.steampowered.com) and sign in with your Steam account.
2. Locate the game you want to refund and select it.
3. Click on the "I would like a refund" option.
4. Choose a reason for the refund request from the dropdown menu and explain why you're requesting a refund.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions to submit your refund request.
6. Your refund request will be reviewed by Steam's support team. If you meet the refund conditions, your request is likely to be approved.
Thanks a million, your solution worked perfectly. I had already uninstalled manually and deleted the installation folder but I was not aware of the AppData files related to this game, I have other Inceton games but never had issues with them so this is my first experience with such an issue.
I really appreciate you taking the time to help me on this.
Have a great day!
Drazz
I wish you a lot of fun while playing Passion on Display and have a great day too!
I am having the issue again, after many hours playing. I always save after every game and nothing special happened with my PC, all other games are running just fine. I can try to apply your solution again, but last time, I lost all my saved information (gallery, saved games...). Is there a file that I could save elsewhere in a temp folder that I could bring back when I get the issue? The first time, I was not very far in the game but this time, I have hours invested. Thanks for helping out.
Hello Drazz
Unfortunately, from what I know, Passion on Display doesn't support Steam cloud saves feature, so you have to backup your save files (and other important files) manually before if you want to use them later, after applying my solution. Files (saves and "persistent" file) we are looking for are stored in game root folder:
C:\Steam\steamapps\common\LustyVerse Passion on Display\game\saves
or in AppData/Roaming, here:
C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Roaming\RenPy\PassionOnDisplay
Once you open one of the folders, you will see these files (for example):
4-1-LT1
4-2-LT1
auto-9-LT1
persistent
The most important files here are "persistent" (stores a lot of important informations about your progress, variables, relationships progress etc) and the save game you created last (to continue your gameplay, you can check it by its creation date).
Type of files with name "4-1-LT1" are saves created by you while manually saving the game while playing it.
Type of files with name "auto-9-LT1"are saves automatically created by the game (usually before any choice option or quitting the game).
Just in case, I would suggest you to backup the entire saves folder (in your case, it doesn't matter if you backup saves from Steam PoD root folder or AppData/Roaming) before applying the solution.
Tbh I have completely no idea why you keep having this bug again. That's the first time someone has had this bug
I am glad it works and you can continue playing PoD
