Also, just by reaching the second location after the scrapyard, it already has 3 more locations inside of it that didn't exist in the demo. And even getting up to there was a part of the story, not just arbitrary passengers.
It's an hour in and game has already has a ton over the demo (as one would expect)
That is definitely nice to hear, but I was wondering more about activities not locations. Having a few varieties of idyllic small-towns is lovely, but it doesn't really make a game worth playing. I should assume the story isn't just reading some text, grabbing a suitcase, and transporting someone to another location? Like, do I need to interact with people and do things in the locations? Are there puzzles and secrets? Transporting and selling goods/materials? Scores, rewards, upgrades for increasing the aesthetics/tier of the train (other than simple personal satisfaction)? Do stumps and dirt piles at least respawn?
I know I'm coming off as cruel, but I just want to know if the game is more than just putting fluffy butts in seats and recycling their trash when they leave. If the game is just waiting to pull in to the next station and clean up trash, IMO that isn't worth $25. If it is then I would have done everything there is to do in the 2 hours I played of the demo and that would not be great.
I've played enough open world games to know that a big map is worth nothing if there isn't anything to do in it. If the gameplay doesn't extend beyond what I have already seen that is fine, it just means the game isn't for me. I just want to know so I don't buy the game only to be disappointed and unable to refund.
If you are saying that the game is limited to the content the demo provided except in more locations then I will have my answer and we can all move on. It APPEARS that is what you are saying which is fine. I simply wanted some clarification on what I interpreted as a high price for very little game. Obviously not everybody feels the same and that is chill.
And for those who are getting defensive at a perceived insult to the game, I want to make my intent clear: my intentions are not to bash the game. I just personally was expecting something more in-depth and if that is not what this game is then that is fine. The game would not be for me and we can all move on without going feral on each other.
Yes there is more story and location and a bit of extra, but I don't think it would be enough if you didn't care for the core loop the demo presented. For someone else who does enjoy the loop, there's a lot of content added to the full version from what I can see. So yes, in that case I do think it would be worth it.
To anyone reading this on the fence, I'd say to just give the demo a shot and see what you think, it gives you most of the feel of the game.
Always the furrys with their toxic positivity
I beat it in 13 without feeling like I was rushing anything.
