Full game really worth $25?
Just wondering. After playing the demo for a little over 2 hours I was pretty bored and underwhelmed. There wasn't really anything to do aside from grinding coins to buy specific materials to get a specific aesthetic for chairs. The only way to get coins is to sit around shoving coal in the engine until you get to your next stop, throw away some litter, seat passengers too lazy to walk 3m to grab their own snack, then repeat. Is that all this game has to offer or does the full game actually have fun stuff to do?

Also, there were two quests in the demo that were apparently impossible to complete. There was no 5th poster to recycle and I it seemed to be impossible to appraise that one guy's furniture because the other NPC didn't have any options to appraise anything. If the full game is that broken then I might just have my answer. Also also, I desperately want to assume that this game has a market you can sell items to and that 90% of the items you come across aren't just space fillers. In the demo, I had half my cargo hold filled with bags of grain before I realized I couldn't use them for anything.

This game seems cute and I want to hold out hope, but from what I've seen $25 is way too steep for what APPEARS to be a pretty tedious and unrewarding grind of a game with a handful of repetitive tasks.
(PLEASE tell me I'm wrong and that the demo was just a bad first impression)

I've been following some streams and it looks like there's a lot of content at least :o
Not sure what you're on about... But i've completed both of those quests in demo ^^

Also, just by reaching the second location after the scrapyard, it already has 3 more locations inside of it that didn't exist in the demo. And even getting up to there was a part of the story, not just arbitrary passengers.
It's an hour in and game has already has a ton over the demo (as one would expect)
I've reached the northern location, Trough (wasn't in the demo), and a whole new damn section of the map has unlocked above it, the size of the one visible from the start. The game seem to be pretty big

cant answer your question but the 5th poster is in the game.

That is definitely nice to hear, but I was wondering more about activities not locations. Having a few varieties of idyllic small-towns is lovely, but it doesn't really make a game worth playing. I should assume the story isn't just reading some text, grabbing a suitcase, and transporting someone to another location? Like, do I need to interact with people and do things in the locations? Are there puzzles and secrets? Transporting and selling goods/materials? Scores, rewards, upgrades for increasing the aesthetics/tier of the train (other than simple personal satisfaction)? Do stumps and dirt piles at least respawn?

I know I'm coming off as cruel, but I just want to know if the game is more than just putting fluffy butts in seats and recycling their trash when they leave. If the game is just waiting to pull in to the next station and clean up trash, IMO that isn't worth $25. If it is then I would have done everything there is to do in the 2 hours I played of the demo and that would not be great.

I've played enough open world games to know that a big map is worth nothing if there isn't anything to do in it. If the gameplay doesn't extend beyond what I have already seen that is fine, it just means the game isn't for me. I just want to know so I don't buy the game only to be disappointed and unable to refund.

From my perspective as a developer is that if you did not enjoy the demo wait and look at some gameplay footage and make your own assumptions. The full game has more content and some other surprises at the stations and more focus on improving your initially small train.

I mean, I'm just asking members of the game's community if there is more to the game than what I have seen. I feel that is a perfectly justified thing to do because one's own assumptions can often be incorrect especially with limited interaction with the subject matter.

If you are saying that the game is limited to the content the demo provided except in more locations then I will have my answer and we can all move on. It APPEARS that is what you are saying which is fine. I simply wanted some clarification on what I interpreted as a high price for very little game. Obviously not everybody feels the same and that is chill.

And for those who are getting defensive at a perceived insult to the game, I want to make my intent clear: my intentions are not to bash the game. I just personally was expecting something more in-depth and if that is not what this game is then that is fine. The game would not be for me and we can all move on without going feral on each other.

I personally, am really enjoying the game. But I feel pretty safe in saying that if you weren't sold by the demo you're not going to be that into the full game either.

Yes there is more story and location and a bit of extra, but I don't think it would be enough if you didn't care for the core loop the demo presented. For someone else who does enjoy the loop, there's a lot of content added to the full version from what I can see. So yes, in that case I do think it would be worth it.

To anyone reading this on the fence, I'd say to just give the demo a shot and see what you think, it gives you most of the feel of the game.

Regarding content there seem to be soo much more thank the demo, but you seem to be worried about mechanics so that I think is something you might need to look at some streams or videos to see if that's something you'd enjoy. Seems to be some emphasis in world exploring with hidden treasures, getting to know/help characters and customization rather than some heavy train mechanics.

if you're already ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ this much about the demo this is clearly not a game for you, so how about doing everyone a favor and moving on?
