PSA; Restoring Ammunition
A lot of weapons have limited use due to low ammo counts but theoretically awesome power and effects. Originally I thought this was hard to maintain over a battle, but the answer was staring me in the face the whole time;

Swap machines. Once you do, your old ammo deficient machine will be restocked in 20-30 seconds. It seems it is also given some repairs as well as long as it isn't completely destroyed.

Works in multiplayer as well as a friend tested out. Suddenly a orbital laser bombardment unit with those low count wide beams seems more realistically useful.

Oh neat. Didn't even realize you could swap back to the same machine again.

It seems that changing mechs increases the damage taken on mission completion.
But it sure is worth it, if it didn't exist I wouldn't be able to complete M30 or later because I wouldn't have enough ammo.
While it is only able to reload ammo for weapons that are existing, equipment that has already been destroyed is not.

I think you're right, it does give you a "Damage Taken" score for some reason. That's so weird

it goes against the idea of the game to not have parts for more ammo, I find running a variety of weapons is the only realistic way. It's so weird there's no ammo capacity parts for accessories.

I also noticed that lock on weapons (or maybe it was lockons slotted to critical) would restock every time I grabbed a new skill cube on the field. Maybe it fills basic weapons as well, I wasn't quite paying attention.

All weapons get restocked a bit when picking up a skill cube.
However if you have run out of ammo, it wont restock them.
So you better grab one before running out.
It also helps to make one of the lowest ammo counting weapons your critical weapon.
That way you wont waste it.

As for damage taken.
I'm guessing it's because they swap out damaged parts with newer fresher parts so it just accumulates the remaining damage on it.
