All of the complaints are literally the same problems every EDF game has had, yet they want to act like EDF was better than this? lol.
Oh ♥♥♥♥, that has me super hyped then. I wasnt expecting part damage.
It isn't about how "braindead" the enemies are (the aliens are kinda smart tho), it's about the enemy variation.
Look at all the enemy-types "EDF" games have vs. this one type "CMW" has.
Changing their appearance doesn't make it a new type...
I mean, if you want me to, sure?
Ant
Acid Ant
Red Ant
Crimson ant (Same as red just faster.)
Gold ant (Same as acid just faster/more damage/stronger shot.)
Spider
Silver spider (Same as spider just more damage/strands.)
Arachne (Spider that pulls you to web.)
Drones
Red Drones (Faster/stronger/more durable.)
Flying insects (Wasps)
Red wasps
Humans (Frogs)
Red humans
Aliens
Aliens with ray cannon
Rolly pollies
Special drone
Now disregarding bosses, that's about it for the normal enemies. Now if we actually break it down, you have.
An ant both melee and ranged
A spider
A drone
An air insect
And a bipedal alien with a gun.
So you have 5 base enemy types that variate, which is kind of what the robots do in custom mech wars. They variate through weapon variety, build size and grouping. A missle bot isn't going to be the same as a pulse bot for instance, etc. Just like an ant isn't gonna be the same as a spider.
Again, EDF is an awesome game, but you're giving it far too much credit of originality or something. It's a mindless shooter you shut your brain off and just enjoy.
Aaaand dependend on the enemy, you still have to use a slightly different strategy.
On a red drone, a strong single-shot weapon is better, cause a machinegun just kicks the thing away from you while barely doing any damage.
Meanwhile, against the normal drone, it would be dumb to defeat them with such a weapon, cause it would take ages to destroy hundrets of them... so a machinegun or multi-missile-launcher would be better.
The bipedal enemies:
The ones with a motar for example can be super annoying and reach you from a high distance.
The ones with a shotgun need to get close to you... and when they do (especially in groups), you are toast.
Which means > a different strategy for both enemy-types.
The durability and attacks they use change so much.
But the enemies in "CMW" do all the same thing and you use the same strategy for every single enemies > dodging sideways & shoot at them.
In "EDF", you can's even dodge most projectiles (dependend on the class and enemies).
Plus, what about all the spawners, huge ships, giand boss enemies and so on?
No, the drop ships don't count as enemies, they are spawners like you said, aka the wave inducers. The giant enemies are considered bosses, which do not count as normal enemies. Custom mech war has them as well, just in mech form.
Ah, I miss pre-school...
LMAO! People who haven't even played this game are defending it? I bet those same people are defending The Day Before too.
I've spent two days playing CMW: The Ultimate Edition via PS5 early access, and, as PeaceSquid said, CMW is inferior to EDF and a mediocre, boring grind at best.
There were no strats. It was literally a mindless shooting game. Like seriously, you are making ♥♥♥♥ up to justify you not liking this game. Just admit you don't like it, and move on with your life. You are not going to win this crusade when we all have (now 6 mainline EDF games) video evidence that supports our argument that you are objectively wrong.
Maybe play anything higher than Easy and Normal?
There are maps at the end of these titles for example, where you get overrun as soon as you hit the wrong enemy.
And the >strategy< is to shoot down all small flying enemies and afterwards, try to lure as few enemies to your position as possible.
Sorry, but no matter how simple these games are, if you aren't careful and plan ahead, yo gonna have a hard time.
Lmao, in fact... try defeating the dragon in "EDF6" with your mindset.
Boy will you get destroyed, even on Normal.
This mission has no mercy, and if you don't use the vehicles in correct ways, your life ends as soon as the first wave of fish spawns.
Also, be glad you still are getting an answer after acting like an a-hole basically all the time. :)
I highly doubt Mikoto has played any EDF games or CMW for that matter.
