I believe in some branches of Christianity 'making up a religion' is a heresy, and arguably it doesn't matter if it's fictionalized. So this game would constitute a mockery of G-d.
This might also apply to some Islamic groups, not sure about other religions.

Well, I'm a Christian and I sin all the time. If playing a silly god game is a sin, then so be it. I'm forgiven for my sins and I'm going to hell for it. I sincerely doubt God cares whether or not I'm playing a god game, because we as humans cannot possibly fathom what it is to be a god. It's a game. God knows the difference.

Well, if you are talking about the God of the Bible, the only thing that keeps you from going to heaven is unbelief. Unbelief in what Chirst did for you. That he was God in the flesh, went to the cross, paid for all your sins, was burried, and rose again the 3rd day for your justification. 1st Corinthians 15. We live in the dispensation of Grace. Where God is pouring out his unmerited favor among the human race. Most Christians would self destruct if they actually read and studied their Bible on their own but they rely on men to "teach" them what it says instead of reading the words on a page and "rightly dividing it" according to 2nd Timothy 2:15. If, however, you are referring to some other god, sorry. Don't know.
