Game won't start.

So, after the patch that got implemented yesterday there was some server problems which I assume you all know about. During that time when I tried to log on, I got an error (can't remember exactly what it said) saying: Terrain data corrupted / error. So I thought I'd wait for today to try to launch it again.

The problem I've got now is that the game starts up to loading screen, then the sounds from the gameplay start, but it won't pass the loading screen, beeing stuck there. I simply cannot enter the game.

To try to fix this I backed up my save files, reinstalled the game, and copied the save files back in. I also verified the game cache files, and restarted steam and so on, but for no help. It still gets stuck at the loading screen. I also tried this without copying back the save files, having it with only fresh files from the install.

So what I was wondering was if you guys got any ideas I could try, so I might be able to play the game again :) Having my save from previous play time isn't really a must (but a bonus), I can still start over, as long as I get it to work again.

I know in my case i had the game set to full-screen mode before the update, don't know if that is related or not.

Just bought the game and it won't even open. As soon as I click on godus.exe, nothing else happens. No splash screen or anything. I tried to verify the game cache but that didn't rectify the problem.

Orchid, try restarting Steam. If that doesn't work, delete the entire folder from the Steam directory, uninstall and reinstall the game. Sorry you're having problems.

Forgot to post what I did. But as Muir already suggested I uninstalled the game, deleted the folder that was left with some stuff, reinstalled and it worked fine. Thx for the feedback nonetheless :)

Same problem here, nothing works. Game stucks on 41% in the Loading screen and crashes back to desktop...

Mayeda, have you tried what I suggested above? Uninstall the game, delete the Godus folder which can be found in: Hard Drive -> Steam -> SteamApps -> common, and reinstall.

Verifying the game's cache usually doesn't work with this bug as it's a corrupt file and not a missing one (which is what verifying checks for).

i have the same problem and this is how i solve it (if you guys have the 100% same problem). when it stuck on loading screen just alt+tab, if not ctrl+alt+del. when u reach the desktop you will see the new godus window, asking for using the newer or older save to continue. select the one you prefer then alt+tab main godus window back.

I have the same issue, the game won't start at all, but on mac, and I can't find the equivalent of the file Muir mentienend, can you guys help ? please?
