Godus
Version 2.2.1 Now Available to Download on PC & Mac
Over the last few weeks, we’ve been working on completely overhauling our save game system for Godus on both Steam and iOS. This will prevent players from losing their progress or running into problems recovering their saves in future.

Today, we’re rolling out these fixes for all Godus players on PC and Mac, along with a few new bits of gameplay content too.

New Gift & Swampland!

We’ve also implemented a brand new Gift to help boost the Happiness level of your Followers – take a look at our totally tropical Tiki Torch!

If you take a look around your Homeworld, you’ll also find that there are a few swampy areas to contend with now.

That’s right, swamps are no longer just the preserve of your godly abilities but now appear organically within your Homeworld as well, adding an additional layer of challenge when commanding your Followers to spread out and explore the land.

Changes in v2.2.1

Please find below the full list of changes and fixes found in Godus v2.2.1 for PC & Mac.

New content:
  • New Tiki Torch gift which can be placed and turned on and off by selecting,
  • Swamps added to home world
  • Swamp tutorial
  • New 5000 Belief card available in the Exchange

Fixes:
  • Save Game fixes to prevent crashing on recovering a save and to minimise save corruptions.
  • Build time for Voyages of Discovery Temple reduced.
  • General performance optimisation.

Please be aware that you may have to restart Steam in order to download the new version of Godus.

Edit: Just to add that the ability to fast forward the voyage events has been taken out temporarily as the team has received several bug reports about this feature. The developers are working on fixing the problems and the feature will be added in once it's been fixed. Sorry for any inconveniences. ~Muir

Awesome.

I assume the save game stuff for MAC and PC is a test for intergrating the balance tool etc? (as well as fixing the save corruption stuff)

So, with the Astari somehow having acquired a resistance towards swamps due to over exposure.
Is it fair to expect the same to happen to our people if they keep dying to swamps?
Or is the genetic makeup of the Astari sufficiently different from that of our own followers to prevent this?

What about Astari that we convert? Do they retain their miraculous immunity to swamps?
What about intermingling the two peoples?

I admire you trying to apply logic to a god game and also just a video game in general but sadly I cant comment on this..mainly because i have no idea :)

Remember that during development there is going to be a lot of balancing and testing of ideas, some will stick some will evolve and some will be scrapped but it would be unfair of me to try rationalise it in a lore/immersed manner just yet :)

Personally and in a non professional way I like the idea of perhaps a more powerful god watching over the Astari and helping them evolve from your dangers..however it doesn't stop you showering them in fire so obviously my theory needs some work and is very far from anything logical :P

I spammed you in chat about it. I'll talk further in chat so I don't spam here.

But suffice it to say it looks like an internet connection is NOW REQUIRED. It's sitting on loading for the last 5 or more mins and it's not timing out the connections to the server. You might want to let the players know if this is the case or not.

Forward it to the design team. I propose strong scientific and faith-based growth within the Godus civilizations.
A well-reasoned mechanic could prove a solid foundation for future expansion and development afterall.

You'll have to pick at some point, don't shove everything out in front of you else you just keep making more and more disjointed mechanics that the final puzzle will be impossible to put together!
